A map a made a little while ago, space tileset, doodads and terrain and all that jazz lookin good. Computer players have done everything right on the map except getting the gas in the corners, they dont seem to be able to comprehend it and the minerals at the same time, either one or the other. Could be a good Ally TvB 2v2 map.
There are 4 small expansions in the middle, with 3 minerals blocking each expansion. The blocking minerals have 1000, and the ones inside have 3000. Gas on the natural expansion has 7000. All other resources are default.
Ignore the purple CCs in the image, those were for resource placement.
Suggestions and comments welcome. I'd love to become a better mapper.

5. This map could ONLY be played as a 2v2 right now, and even then, T still wins.

Overall, the map has no concept, nothing good to work with, you should scrap it, read the melee mapping guide, and try again on a whole new map. http://www.staredit.net/topic/378/

2. Is the map play-able?
-Make sure your start locations are properly placed and for the correct players. Also check that your minerals and gas belong to P12 as well as any pre-placed building sprites you are using.

-No one wants to play a bland looking map. Doodads are a must. The ISOM tool is your friend, not just for making cliffs, but for making the map look pretty.

4. IMPORTANT: Does my map have a concept, and is it worth playing?
-One of THE most important parts of a map is the concept. Nobody wants to play a standard main->nat->minonly->3rd gas->island anymore. Blocking minerals, extended ramps, pre-placed building sprites, anything that makes your map INTERESTING. Now it is hard to balance these interesting aspects, but that is part of making a good melee. Sometimes you have to be experimental in your concepts, even if it affects the balance negatively. This isn't to say that you should make a totally imba map with a weird experimental concept, because that's just silly. Another part of balance, is incorporating these elements positively.

5. MINERAL FORMATIONS AND 'THE GAS ISSUE'
Mineral formations are very important to game play. No one wants their minerals placed in a way that has workers scrambling around the back of them trying to get at a blocked field. And no one wants fields to be further away than they have to be.
Example of good mineral placement:


The gas issue is something even the Koreans didn't get for awhile. Due to differences in how SC handles gas mining from different sides of a CC/Hatch/Nexus, the geyser placement became an issue of balance.
Example:

The top and left geysers will mine faster than the bottom and right geysers. Always remember: Balanced gas > symmetrical gas.

Well after reading some of the other recent maps posted, I knew I was due for a thrashing from you, which is all good to me and I am happy for the feedback :><: .
As for reading the guides, I am a new member, and this map was created before I joined and was one of my recent ones. I posted it after a few minor updates after skimming the guide (for instance, all the gases where moved to a GOOD location), and now I will move on to fully reading the guide and basing a map off of those specifics. Just seeing how previous work would compare if tweaked versus all new work.
I agree the terrain is too tight, and it really turned out to be a once for fun map with me and my friend. Those bridges where fun to rape two comps mains, other than that it got tedious.
Another map from me will not be posted until after the guides have been read, thanks for getting straight to the point. It gives me a good target of where I am and where I need to get. Hope that makes sense.

Oh and its a clickable thumbnail from photobucket lol. The image is 1024*1024. If its not workin' tell me. At least the terrain is interesting interesting to look at IMO the strongest point of the map.
Hopefully in the guide or somewhere is the way to post pictures the way you guys do, which seems to be all based in this site. Otherwise it would be nice for someone to post a link to that information or explain it briefly as well.

Yeah the click works, but it's annoying to do. Tinypic would probably be a better host to use.

What idea is this? I see little to no value in it's current concept. I also find the name rather silly and immature.

The concept was to make the mining in the mains easily attackable, but not necessarily the entire base. The name came from a buddy of mine saying something like "those bridges look like bitches" because of the easy attacking of workers from the bridges.
Unbalanced, yes. Terrible idea, I don't think so, but it needs to be re-cut and rethought out based on the standards of SEN. I don't think just editing this map would do the trick, as I would basically be deleting everything and starting over anyways to get the result I wanted. This map wasn't created with a league/pro map in mind, it was just hashed out with a basic idea.
And that, as they say, is that.
