The universe is constantly expanding. Ironically, everything in the universe is coming closer together at the same time. I think it's expanding at a rate that is faster than the speed of light, which as far as I know is the fastest anything can go (I'm not really well versed in this stuff), so it's impossible to reach the end of the universe. Wouldn't that be an interesting place to be? I wonder what would happen if someone actually managed to get there. Mind fuck D:
Edit: Are the swirls galaxies? And are the huge lights stars that are larger than some of what I think are galaxies?

What if the universe doesn't actually have an edge
What if the entire universe laid on a 4 dimensional sphere? Meaning the entire space in our universe is really just looped. Like our earth here, if we walk and walk on our earth, eventually we will run into the same place we were. What if this is what is happening to our entire universe? I guess if our universe were looped we would see the same galaxies in opposite ends of the universe, since the light would also travel through the "loop"..

Interesting.. Are you saying that if we reached an area that we thought was outside all of the galaxies (and other shit), then looked with a telescope, we'd just see everything that we thought was behind us?
I would die of claustrophobia if that were true.

It's theorized. Redshift of galaxies shows that they're receding (the light comes to us in longer wavelengths, much like a doppler effect). Galaxies at different distances show different degrees of redshifts, the further they are, the more redshift. Very distant galaxies are shown to be receding from us at a rate faster than the speed of light, which is impossible, so the proposed solution to that would be that the space between us is expanding.

Why can't that one galaxy near the bottom exist? 8x the milky way isn't that big... Is there some cosmic galaxy size limit I don't know about?

I also find it very interesting that we have no definitive way to know how far away any of these pinpoints of light called stars are. The best we can do is use simple trigonometry with our own orbit of the sun, setting up an isosceles triangle with the two longer sides pointed at a star, by simply using a telescope pointed at a star, and then six months later moving the telescope back to pointing at the star and measuring the degree of adjustment.
Considering that we really have no way of knowing exactly where our planet lied 6 months ago, and the angles of the triangle are probably EXTREMELY tiny, all we really know is that they are really far away..
I can't remember where and have no source, but about the farthest we could semi accurately measure was something like less than 1 lightyear.
And take a look at those 3-4 VERY bright galaxy/stars. I wonder what in the world is going on in them.. Can you imagine entire worlds of matter, creating such extreme light? Imagine what it would look like to stand in the midst of one of those super light emitters? I also have always wondered what it would be like to stand inside of Jupiter's red eye storm

Well, I always thought that with all the shit out there it was highly probable that there was another planet with life on it, but at this point, my opinion is that there are millions (or more) of planets with uncountable amounts of species with some having abilities beyond what we can even dream of. I wish they could/would (I dunno if it's even possible) visit

I'm unsure about this, when we can fly through the universe with no end it means there must be gravity which attracts the ship so that it is always moving in a circle, also that only could be a huge planet which means there that the other planets would be attracted to it, too which wouldn't be possible...
I hope you understand this.
