I've attached a little demo-map which spoils only some terrain so far and you don't actually get to know why things are like they are (but they all have a sense in the storyline
). Go see it at the main post ;o
None.
I will not attach any more terrain spoil maps until it is done.
The progression stats got updated.
I'm about to change the name of this RPG to "
Ragnarök: Corruption's beginning" and separate the story into chapters and there would be a chapter named "Yggdrasill: Tree of Genesis". All chapters will probably contain the name of the main area where it is being acted and some following words.
This is going well
I really love my terrain and I hope you will too
None.
Terrain 50% done.
First city roughly made.
Second puzzle in brainstorm session.
90% of the terrain is already planed out... it's only a matter of time now ;o
None.
Terrain 62% done.
First and second city done.
Doodad placement all over the already-made terrain done.
Second puzzle is planed out, though it may change (spoil: it involves environmental interaction ;o).
Terrain missing:
- The cave between the 2 cities
- Sea*
- Mountains
- 2nd "forest" (thanks to samsizzle for his terrain)
- The 2 missing dungeons of the room right after ToG
- Even more
Expect some uber naval battles and a big war on the ground
How's that?
None.
the environmental interactino will involve burning the TOG
RAWRRRR
WEEEE
whens the demo?
None.
I'm done with the rough draw of the cave after the 2nd city, the sea and I'm about to copy-paste the terrain samsizzle made for me
(Thank you again!
<3)
And no, that tree will not burn down
Demo with triggers... I dunno
But with terrain, it's already available and only Yoshi and qPK saw the latest terrain.
As I've said, I'll stop uploading new versions of the terrain to keep some surprises
And also, I will stop spreading my terrain over B.net
Only qPK will see my latest terrain
None.
what about me?
dont i get to see the new terrain?
None.
if you let me see, ill give you a cookie.
and qpk will have sex with you if you show me
None.
I ran out of sprites D:
... as many had suspected, probably >.<
I'll have to cut-off a part of my uber forest (which didn't look that nice anyways).
EDIT: 2 AM and 159 sprites available
May the Sprite-Fest restart!
(But You just lost 1/3 of the forest to explore ;o)

You can raise the sprite count in scmdraft...
Options > Profile Settings > Advanced Option (should be near bottom right)
None.
But that doesn't raise the limit in sc

I've met the "Too many nooks and crannies" error, but luckily, I managed to fix it pretty quickly.

Oh please tell me how!
I've been having this error for like a week, fix then it returns, fix then returns. Can you give a brief explanation of what you did so I can get a little bit of knowledge to knock this error out for good, would be nice
Plus great map!
Yeah that was vague, I promise though I'll look over it like right now
K just looked over it, nice looking terrain. Liked the little garden area and of course THE TREE. Story sounded interesting but I sort of skimmed and just forgot everything I read sorry. About some evil stuff and a guy and a tree who's kingdom is threatened or something. I think...

The storyline got modified a bit from the one shown in the main post, but anyways, it still has the big lines.
You also haven't seen the latest version of my terrain
For the error, I hope you've saved many updates of your map, else, you'll have to remember everything you've changed between your saves.
What I did was that:
1) I made around 10% more of my terrain and tested it -> Error. It thus had to do with my newest terrain.
2) I tried to remove all sprites -> Didn't work. Same for doodads. So this error really is about the terrain itself.
3) I deleted my very latest part and tried to play in-game. Still had the error -> Got back my latest terrain.
4) Tried to remove an other part. It worked. This part involved Raised Jungle. Though I -needed- that terrain, I couldn't remove anything so I tried to find an other way of solving my terrain.
5) Basing myself over that "Raised Jungle" clue my testing laid me, I tried to remove the useless spots of Raised Jungle I had here and there in some unused areas that were small, restricted by cliffs. -> It worked just well
But it seems like this error is case-per-case... this might not apply to any map. Tell me if that helped

You guys prefer to have a land to explore or a terrain more "linear" which always gets you to where you have to go?
For example, do you want Cliffs directing you directly to a town -OR- Cliffs separating into 2 ways. One being for fight and the other for the city.
And if you'd find the city at first, would you go back to fight or you would keep following the storyline (which do not send you back)?
Thanks for cooperation!
I just started to make my terrain less linear because I though it'd be too boring. It's up to you, guys. Please help me decide!
