I was wondering if anyone could create a GRP for me. Specifically, I need a generic female GRP. Does anyone have one/could anyone make one?
None.
Get the civilian and slap on a medic portrait. Problem solved.
Really, I'm not sure if it's even possible to differentiate genders with Starcraft's graphic engine.
None.

Long hair, smaller sprites, shorter height, clothes (skirts maybe?). Sure you can.
fuck you all

Uhh... I don't think the engine detects and automatically blocks feminine sprites or something. >_> What?
Kerrigan's graphic is sufficiently recognizable - perhaps because players already are aware, due to portrait/voice, but it atleast looks
conceivably female.
Take the civilian sprite, shave off some shoulder pixels, add chest highlights, and some hair - voi la.
Honestly, I would take a try at it, TZ, but my knuckles grow sore after using my computer actively for anymore than a few minutes at a time anymore, so... >_<

I would, but stardat.mpq is full of unknowns. I know I need a listfile but I can't find any; google has failed me. Does anyone have a listfile I can use? (I also seem to recall someone once saying that stardat.mpq's files are encrypted. How to decrypt them?)

Incidentally, I wanted the GRP to be wearing a dress. (It's for a machinima project, not a "real" mod, so don't start saying "But a dress is way too impractical for a soldier".) This is one of the main reasons I wanted someone else to create the GRP for me: I have no clue how to modify one of the default GRPs so that it appears to be wearing one. And it also has long hair. So yes, you would be able to tell.
None.

If you downloaded Corbo's Modding Tool Package, the listfile was included in the .zip file, in a folder marked "Listfile". Regardless, I'll attach it for convenience.

Download a .grp decompiler (RetroGRP, SFGrpConv, PyGRP), decompile the .grp of your choice, use an image editor (Paint, Photoshop, etc.) to modify the resulting .bmp files, then recompile.

I don't even have RetroGRP you silly people.
None.
I used RetroGRP. It's like Viagra for GRPs.

I have used Retro GRP evern since I start modding and it has never corrupted/failed or anything bad at all.
People saying that Retro sucks might be right but they also fail for not being able to use a program properly.
fuck you all
I use to use retro because it had a preview and SFGRP didn't, but it started fucking up on larger GRPs like zerglings so I stopped.
