Okay, so my monitor messed up this morning.
It was fine for most of the day, then I booted up SC, and the screen darkened (considerably) and diagonal lines appeared on the screen, spacing about 1.5 in apart from each other (if that helps at all).

Right now, I've digged up my itsy-bitsy screen, but it works and that's what matters. I would like to get my other monitor back on the job, but I don't know how to fix it.
I've tried the following: resetting my comp, changing resolutions, turning the monitor off and on, living with it, and messing with the monitors settings (through the manual buttons below the screen.
None of it works. Any other idea's?

None.

We live in a society.

Since you didn't mention checking (make sure every connection is there, I've had some weird shit happen when one or two prongs were missing) and tightening the cable between your monitor and computer, do that.

The sword and the faith

Do as Moose said, try updating your display drivers, and if problems persist, you may have a hardware problem with your gfx.

Do both monitors use the same type of connection?

None.

Yes they do, and the 2nd one works just fine.

okay, tried it. It didn't make a difference. I took it out, replugged it, tightened it, still doesn't work.
Since the monitor I'm using now is smaller, I had to put my larger one back in to fix the resolution, and it still doesn't work.

None.

LCD or CRT?

None.

Since the other monitor works, I would rule out the graphics card. Also the cables being messed up sounds unlikely, but if possible, switch the cables around.
If it happened with SC was launched, did the resolution change back after you closed SC? I would try reinstalling display drivers then messing with the resolutions and frequencies some more, launching and closing SC. If that didn't work, I would try to beat the monitor with something if it is CRT.

None.

Incidentally if you attach a magnet to the end of a drill and turn it on and move it by a CRT screen, it can clean up the flickers around the edges, but your problem sounds a bit different.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

most have a degauss button on them...

Some monitors don't like to work at some resolutions. This is a defect, and is caused by the monitor being old. My brother's monitor won't go into 800x600. If you have multiple computers, switch out the defective monitor to the other computer to try to diagnose exactly what is wrong.

It's time to buy a new monitor, or figure a way around it. If the monitor works at its native resolution, play starcraft in a window (you'll have to download a mod for that).

Ultraviolet shouted: NudeRaider I suppose that's one justification for pushing it to 1.00. I'm still messing with some novel concepts, I completely revamped the Shadowcraft hero in v0.18 and there's some kinks to work out with some of the other changes I made, but I suppose that doesn't mean I can't call the currently version 1.XX
indeed

Ultraviolet shouted: Imp UV3 is actually in the works with some major changes, but it's been slow going. I'd like to have a version of Imp UV for every tileset at one point.. hopefully it doesn't take until 2030 :P
prediction: It will. ;)

NudeRaider -- Ultraviolet
Ultraviolet shouted: NudeRaider Oh definitely fully playable. I used the first map as the shell, so it was basically complete from the first release. I've made some tweaks and improvements here and there based on nuances between the maps, like UV2 has more air units so certain ground-focused heroes like Psycho and Shadowcraft have needed some buffing. Other improvements have been little bug fixes or ways of stopping cheese strategies (like the bosses now spawn in a random location instead of at their lair so players can't just camp them with nukes. UV2 is definitely harder despite only being 4 levels + boss fight instead of 5. I'd say it's definitely worth a go, there's some unique mechanics that make each of the levels have kind of their own interesting spin
Oh, then your versioning is maybe a bit misleading. I didn't have much trust in a v0.2
