For those of you who don't remember or weren't here, SeN Quilt Bound was a project that we had started back when v4 was around. As the name suggests, it was a bound with the map divided into squares, with each participating mapper adding an obstacle to their square. I think this would be nice to start up again, but maybe throw some minigames in with the bound obstacles to give it more of a Four Second Fury-type of feel. If anyone is interested and/or happens to have the map on their computer (*cough* Mini Moose *cough*), then please post!

We should start it over. What we SHOULD do though, is re-use the terrain instead of making a whole quilt. Use a death count to control the levels and we can easily import/export them as triggers and we're good.

Why not just make the whole thing out of minigames? If you did that, I'd be glad to participate. As it is, it's essentially, 'we're going to make a bunch of minigames, but for some reason 75% of them will be of this particular type.'

I agree with EzDay why not just call it SeN quilt instead of it just being a bound than more people would be up to helping since alot of people arnt fans of bounds or making them

I missed this on the old SEN :omfg:
So, the map would be 256x256, right? We each get like, a 15x15 section, or what?

That's why I suggested we add minigames into it in the first place. We can call the map "The Staredit Quilt." :P

This is what I was hoping for. Get 16 mappers, each gets a 16x16 square to make whatever minigame or bound obstacle they want. We can always change it depending on the number of mappers, but I'm hoping for 8 or 16 people. Easiet to divide it evenly that way. But with Mini Moose's idea, it would make it so a lot more (or a lot less) people could do it, but it wouldn't have that... Quilty feel, you know?

I just realized, 16x16 is wayy too small.
256x256 = 65536 tiles
16x16 sections = 256 tiles per section

65536 tiles/256 tiles = 256 possible quilt makers. That's uh, a lot.

If we use a 256x256 map with 32x32 areas, that's 64 maximum areas. That's still a lot, but we should go with that just incase, you never know.

I seem too excited about this :uberw00t:

Eh, a quilt looks cooler on minimap, I think.
And if we re-use terrain, then we could end up with a painfully growing mass of locations for each next contributor. It also limits the use of sprites. Unless you want a selection of terrains large enough that we may as well have an individual one for each person. =P

Noone said that the quilt has to take up the entire canvas. We could use just a fraction of it. In fact, I think it'd be good to have some space inbetween each game so that when you're watching what's going on at one corner of it, you're not also looking at the terrains for three other games.
With as much space as we have, a bit of 'waste' wouldn't hurt.

Re-using terrain implied that you re-use locations.
We have a bunch of stationary squares and a few locations of varying sizes for moving.
Have you played Level Up Bound or anything like that?

I think I played it once, but I still prefer having it be an actual quilt instead of a figurative one (if you know what I mean). We could re-use locations and use the deathcount level system, but I would like to keep the terrain squares intact.

How's abouts we get this pinned? :P Or better yet, a news post!

Hum, it could be interesting. If I participate, I would like to do a small rpg ( if its not Bound only :P ).

It could be cool to make a 32x32 rpg haha.
