I know its pretty simple to put colors into maps and I have used that function for years however recently I was trying to add in some colors to a map and it doesn't seem to work like it used to anymore
. Anyway I am using SCMDraft II and the list in the editor isn't giving me much success with colors. I've googled on hex codes for colors and looked in the forum...even tried one of those color programs we have linked...to no avail. If someone could remind me the simple thing I am forgetting that would be GREAT!
Edit: Colors show up correctly when viewing in the strings editor but when I save and load the map the colors aren't in effect when playing.

This is one of the few times where I'm completely puzzled.
What you're saying is if you start a new map, rename the Terran Marine to <07>Marine (please test that out before replying) the Marine has no green name ingame, but is shown green in the String editor?
Are you sure you're playing the right map? (Make sure you save in the same folder you open the map in StarCraft)
It's not a new map....but yes I am using those formats and it is not working. However, I should mention that I am having trouble with it changing forces names and briefing text. When I attempt to edit forces names it shows no changes, and if I try to change text color in the briefing it appears to sometimes completely remove my briefing text. I was mostly just trying to get the force name color changes to work first before I messed with the rest. Everything looks correct in the SCMDraft strings editor....but as soon as I load the game anything I had just changed and saved (and yes I am trying to load what I just saved) isn't showing up and it all reverts to the default color.

I asked you to try with a fresh map to make sure there are no unknown factors.
Now that you mention briefing, things become much clearer.
Force names cannot be colored since several patches ago and the briefing / map name has completely different set of colors.
Check this:
Yea those are the codes I am using... none of them are letting me change the forces colors except for on the in-game strings list... once I save and load none of the changes are showing in game.
I did manage to change the colors on the map name however I set the code for white on the colors and now it is showing up green when I load....weirdness. I remember colors sometimes being a pain in the ass but not this much of a pain.

You can't change the colour of the forces
The title uses different codes than everything else. Look at NudeRaider's picture and the codes are under Glue (I believe).

Really? I seem to remember that you used to be able to change the color of the forces names... in-fact I thought I played map with them changed recently but I guess maybe a patch nixed that ability. (I Mean like forces 1, 2, 3, and 4 renamed using colors)

Ah.. I was using the ones under title for it instead of Glue. The Glue codes are corresponding correctly for the title at least. What is title used for if not for title..lol

Yeah, force colors were patched I think in 1.14 :\
The title is actually used for that Loading... you see when you first start up SC

Wow, no offense, but you should really read more carfully.
I told you that you can't use colors in forces since several patches ago.
And when you check the table you can read that the color codes for lobby (where you can see the map name or title, as you call it) are different from the standard colors you have in-game.
No post after mine was necessary for an attentive reader.
Yea... I didn't see what you typed above the table earlier. Probably because I had been trying to figure the problem out for well over an hour and at that point was not reading carefully anymore. I haven't messed with colors since before the 1.14 patch I had thought that it only removed overlapping and such...didn't realize it removed force colors too
. Ah well, I'm all updated now
. I guess this topic can be closed. Thanks for the assistance.
