I dont know how to Mod, but what would be cool if someone can get a hybrid from the bonus mission w/ the cells. I think I heard gossip on the internet about hybrids being on sc2 or something... but it would be cool if someone can make a mod about the hybrids.
Also what would be cool if you can possibly get a mod to land wraiths/dropships anything. |

It's possible, you need only a custom graphic, an edited iScript animation, and the Hero siege tank.
It's just a pain in the ass. |

Why not just add a few iscript changes and add two buttons in FG? You really dont need a to use another unit. |

Because taking the time to carefully emulate the siege tank function is annoying, and not alot of units have native iscripts for burrowed/construction animations. What's so important about the Hero tank anyway? Not to mention yay for downgrading. However, an even better bet would be to use the Terran Unknown Building, give it new graphics, make it a building, give it the liftoff and landing functions and animations and etc. |

Wasn't this originally supposed to be about the hybrid?
I mean, the entire thread is named 'Hybrid Unit?...' Why exactly did we focus entirely on the dropship-that-lands instead of the hybrid thing that this thread was named after in the first place?!... I was disappointed to see nothing about a possible Zerg-Protoss Unit Mod... ... Did I overdo the ellipses?

Oh... whoops... Sorry for the bump. Still, I thought the thread was supposed to be focused a bit on the hybrids for my previous reasons.

Because the landing aircraft is more discussion-worthy to most? =P
I don't get what exactly he was envisioning. The unit itself doesn't exist, so what it'd involve is take some unit the mod-maker doesn't care about ( such as the ones that can't be used anyways... ) , giving it a weapon and graphic and some buttons and calling "Hybrid" or somesuch. |

Would checking the flying building flag without the building flag cause problems? Also, what about a landing/lifting addon?
Yeah...The lift/land unit is more discussion worthy .

A hybrid unit is 90% graphics. Who cares about them anyway. ;P

Dear Durandal: Actually, although untested, I doubt using the Siege Tank would work. When transitioning from one unit to the next, there is nothing telling the game to transfer the units loaded from one back into the other. Health transfers because it was programmed to do so, however if you add shields they do not. Instead, what you get is an interesting little exploit that recharges to full shields every unit transition. Dear KorpzE: You could use a lift-off/landing building for the transport, but you'd be stuck with the horribly slow default hover rate for buildings. I don't believe there is a way to edit that value at present. The only other option I can think of at the moment is simple Iscript trickery, such as shifting the sprite heighth down. |

No, units transfer. They also transfer across morphs. Which is quite neat. ....Flingy.dat. |

I dont know much about modding, so i can't help much, all i can say is that there is probably a [Hybrid] unit in SC, since Hybrid is 2 creatures making a fused [Pilon [Pig/Lion]] creature, without modding, you can do one of the Supreme glitches to get hybrid builderss This post was so stupid I don't know how to respond. |

Dear FooFighters:
Hybrid, meaning the Protoss/Zerg hybrids as one of the major plot elements in the Starcraft campaign, especially in the Brood War secret mission with Duran. Dear Syphon: That's really interesting, I didn't expect that. Huh. Must be how unit space works, and how the game stores carried units. |
