Since there are lots of great maps out their in languages other than English...and since people sometime want to make versions of their maps that are playable with instructions in another language I thought this might be a good thread to start. If you have linguistic skills in some area besides English and are willing to help with translating a map let me know! I have considered trying to find a good translator to make a Korean version of Civilization World for a long time now...and I know for sure that pretty much every online translator fails pretty miserably for this purpose. I also have a few really good Korean maps (I think) that I wanted to try and translate and a german map that I was trying to translate using multiple translators online (German seems to be more easily translated online for free) but that I got stuck up on due to some important words not being recognized by the translator.

I will get us started... I speak English and some broken Spanish but I am not much good for translating anything into Spanish. Even after a few years of Spanish classes including a conversational spanish one .

Usually dict.cc does a pretty good job at translating single words though.

Anyone know a good site for translating korean single words? (From Korean to English)





There are some out there... I've played a few from Chile and Argentina and Brazil. The key would be to figure out the country rooms for them all. I wonder if there is a master list somewhere? I have a partial list going but its kinda offtopic. They would all star Brood War 3initials-1. Ex. Brood War USA-1; Brood War AUS-1.

If you only put in one word, then it gives you multiple translations, like a dictionary.

I can translate from bad English to good English. Example:

I've taken three years of German, but it looks like three people already have that language covered.

Using that, you can just highlight something you see on Firefox and it will translate it into English (or another language, depending on your settings). Just a little side-note.

I'm reasonably fluent in German, but not super interested in spending a lot of time translating stuff.. if you have grammar questions you can ask me, I guess.

http://dict.leo.org has English to German translations (dict.cc is better), but also has German/foreign dictionaries for French, Spanish, Italian, and Chinese (Mandarin I believe).

I can help you translate Leet/Noobspeak into Generally recongized english.
