For those of you that have already seen the new update of their website Battle.Net, you will see a lot of new changes. Basically there hasn't been any major updates and all they did so far was move things around. Apparently they want to put all of Blizzard's game into one server, hence the merge of World of Warcraft with Blizzard. This is because of the upcoming Diablo III and Starcraft II. Not only do they plan to merge World of Warcraft, but also other games, like Starcraft, Diablo II, and Warcraft III. What they want us to do is make an account at their website and add games by submitting our CD-keys. This is most likely a possible way of banning hackers in total from all their games, as well as stopping the useage of bots, such as Stealth bot (Blizzard has stated that even chat bots are third-party programs).

Here are some updates they are planning
-A social network (Like Facebook and Myspace). Basically they are trying to do what Steam has already done, with their community.
-Better match ups, like what Warcraft III has, but much better. This is going to be made because of Starcraft II and their melee games.
-Better Channel and Clan support
-Individual avatars and icons

-A chance of having people pay to access Battle.Net 2.0
-Universal Chat for WoW players and other Battle.Net games


Also, more news on Starcraft II. Activision has posted that they are expecting Starcraft to be released by 2009.

Oh, and along with this, I heard something about the first few people who made an account for this Battle.Net 2.0 recieved a Beta key along with their confirmation e-mail. I tried it and I got nothing .

The only "Rumon" that I've heard of was VoiP, which would be your Voice Chatting. Problem is, wouldn't that cause emmensive lag, and be much easier to host the VoiP server outside of Battle.net?

It obviously is coming out '09. Most likely in time for the christmas rush. That is possibly (probably) why it is now a trillogy. So they didn't need to squeeze for time at christmas, and risk damaging sales.

The fact that they pussy'd out and are making it a trilogy is the only reason I believe that this time they might actually release something when they say will be releasing it.

I just can't see another year of QA's keeping people interested and hyped.

StarCraft itself was released late, and rushed last hand. Explains why SC followed up with so many patches. Maybe this is how they minimize patches?

They haven't even started their "Friends and Family" alpha testing phase yet, so I wouldn't expect any usable beta keys any time soon.

Blizzard would have to be fucking retarded to make Battle.net pay-to-play; they'd alienate a huge chunk of their player base in the process.
