What program can convert screen shots that you take in Starcraft?
Every time I take one it ends up something like this... I can't seem to find anything on Google.ca or Blizzard.com
I'd rather not use something big (for example Photo Shop Pro). Something smaller would be great! Thanks!

None.
When you hit print scrn in StarCraft it sends the picture to your StarCraft folder, that picture is good.

If you already knew what falkoner said, use fraps.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
Also, some hacks, like Xanax, and I think Zynastor's Map Hack, maybe, can output the picture in different formats.
None.
I'm not using any hacks, because I had gotten caught for that earlier, and got banned for 2 weeks (FYI I'm still IP Banned). Stupid Warden...
I looked up Fraps and I can't seem to find it...
Link please!

IrfanView is free, works just as well,

I don't get how the normal print screen button doesn't suffice. It should just send a picture to your StarCraft folder. If you hit print screen and then copy and paste the picture it turns out like that.
None.
It's because Blizzard decided to make all their old games like Diablo 2 and Starcraft and things before that to have a different picture file type...
None.
PCX is not an uncommon type... just get an image editor or viewer... I use irfanview. It wouldn't be hard to make a PCX->BMP converter either...

Yea, I also use irfan view.
It's fine, it also can convert those screens into .jpg or/and .bmp.
Also, it's kinda like a diashow (it got arrow-keys) so you can slide through your sc-screens-folder.
Please report errors in the Staredit.Network forum.
gif is lossless in starcraft, due to 256 colors.
Also wtf HavoK?

jpeg is a great format. You just have to know when and how to use it. Obviously don't use it if you need extra high quality (it can manage
good quality with proper compression settings) or when you are going to process the image.
jpg is the best format for large pictures (like screenshots, landscapes, etc.) where it's not important to display every pixel perfectly.
png is nice when you need transparency or for small pictures (like avatars) and
gif if you need animation (for example for signatures).
LMAO!!! Yeah... Ok the truth is I'm lazy... Actually I was burning out, and I wasn't sure what to do. If you smoke you would know (not saying you don't).

png is when you need large raster images. ;o You don't seem to realize the compression on png... jpg should
only be used for photos (as it was intended). Screenshots for SC work best as png.

I just noticed that that's the main menu, just really dark.
I use PNG for pretty much anything computer-related, it just looks perfect.

Lol! Good guess your right!

ZynMapHack works fine for that. It will save them as .bmp or something instead of .pcx. PCX is an old file extension used when SC was new

. Just turn off all features of it except that. Maybe you can do that idk, I don't use it. Maybe theirs a hack that will do that only (and technically, it isn't really a hack that gives you an unfair advantage so Warden shouldn't ban you). Sorry if I'm advertising, then remove, but try
http://bwhacks.com.

Just have IrFanView run a batch conversion on all your .PCX files in the StarCraft directory at once.
Problem solved.
Cool thanks for the help! Cases closed! Lol!
