It's not a matter of if it can connect, its a matter of if you can access the command line prompt and regedit.
I don't know, I've never tried it before.
None.
I tried to open command prompt via a .bat file I created in Notepad and when it starts, it automatically ends the program. I don't have any idea how to make a website. Looks like I'm SOL.
Open command.com, not cmd.exe, you can also just right click and create a shortcut and it's basically the same thing as a run dialog, and from there you can end processes.
Also, if you want an easy task manager, you can download
Process Explorer and that will do the same thing, I've found it to be extremely handy.
Also, does that mpq allow you to play the campaign? I'm assuming no, but I wanna be sure.

I'm not sure. I'm logged onto B.net and I don't want to log off and then go through a process just to test it. I'm sure it does. I don't see why it wouldn't.

It wouldn't because the campaign takes a massive amount of space and they're trying to make it portable, and the campaign files aren't required to play other portions of it.

I'm not really geared towards single player use. The whole idea of this was to be portable and be able to gain access to my account on battle.net and play online. I don't really care about single player.

uh i did this, i just got the newest patch (or any patch with BWAI downgrader) and i moved the entire SC folder onto my flashdrive, i can play it anywere and ive showed some people my mods afew times

-=[Off Topic]=- I hate the blocking of our websites at school, it sucks... But, me and the rest of the eighth grade [if not the higher grades] found a website to get to a blocked one... i-w.net
Thats how i get on SEN, myspace, or anything i want to see [sometimes]
-wink, wink-
-=[On Topic]=- If it works, i would love to know how to do this, since i want to play SC in school, or my friends houses [since they too stupid to get it lol]
EDiT: It works, but when i playd it, it was a little laggy, so it was either the computer or the way it is, but i will test it later at my friends house to get a clearer picture as to waht may be happening to mine

This is an extremely interesting topic, but I think I might need help getting this to work. Or at least confirmation.
To play from my USB drive, all I have to do is copy my StarCraft folder into my USB drive and also put the StarCraft.mpq file inside the StarCraft folder too, right? Is there anything I can delete to conserve memory space?
And what does the StarCraft.mpq file do? Should I rename it to StarDat.mpq or etc.? Facepalm. These files are for the Blizzard's no-CD thing with the 1.15.2 patch. Shall I rename this to BroodWar.mpq?
EDIT:
What are StarCraft and Brood War's normal files after a patch to 1.16.1 and clean install?
What the Hell are the IX86_1xx files supposed to do?
EDIT:
Never mind, I got it.

Good luck finding a school other than city schools that dont have a firewall that instantly block battle.net.
I live in the MOST unheard of town and they have one of the best fucking firewall ever.

They are patch upgrade files, you can delete them.

I live in a rather large metropolitain area where they don't block Battle.net.

Okay, I tested it today on a school laptop and it worked, to some degree. I can play singleplayer but I can't play multiplayer, which was the whole point of it. When I try to log onto battle.net through StarCraft, it comes up with a connection error stating that I need to be connected to the internet, blah blah blah... I'm already connected through wifi so I no that it's not the problem. I think I don't have something in the folder that I need. I guess I could try to install StarCraft on a school computer, but I think I might get suspended or some gay shit.
EDIT: What makes a website blocked? I don't get how it works. It comes up with an error stating that SEN is a gaming website, which it is, but how does a firewall know this? Does it just cache all the pages and looks for the word "game" or something?

It has a very large list of sites that are banned.

Okay, but how do I get StarCraft to play online?
None.
Disable firewall, or somehow find a way to get past it?

I don't know if that's the reason why it wont work.

Its possible that they have an internet access controller installed which restricts access to only certain programs, ie: Internet Explorer for browsing. I've never worked with one of those so I don't know how to get around it.

Not to mention the trouble you'll be in if you get cought tampering with it

Alright, I just wanted to know that it was nothing that I did, IE not placing a file in the folder or something like that.
None.
I like using starcraft LAN edition, you don't need CD-key or anything... is great for putting in the shared folder at school. Really small, obviously no b.net, but you can connect to private servers.
This isn't where I downloaded it... but the link looks legit.
