I added the engine overlay to Sarah Kerrigan's walking animation and in flingy.dat, set her move control to flingy.dat.
When I try to move her ingame, however, Starcraft freezes. How do you fix this?
Here is the relevant code:
SarahKerriganWalking:
orderdone 1
playfram 0x00 # frame set 0
imgol 249 0 0 # SCVGlow (thingy\tscGlow.grp)
goto SarahKerriganWalking

IIRC you need a .lo? file to specify where the engine overlay goes.
I thought each overlay was tied to a specific .lo? file (in this case, the SCV's). Guess I was wrong.
Anyway to give Kerrigan .lo? files?
probably notEDIT: I suppose I could add it into the walking frames of the .grp, couldn't I?

Images.dat tab of DatEdit (or whatever tool you use) and change 'special' extra overlays placement to 252.
It didn't seem to work. SC still freezes.
It's for Sarah Kerrigan's entry, right?

Yeah. Compare your iscript with the .scv's to make sure you're using it in the same way.
Strange- when I attack-move with it, everything is fine (for a few seconds), but when I right-click to move, the game crashes/freezes immediately.

The .lo? file must have the same frames as the unit it is assigned to. Since SCV has different frames than Sarah Kerrigan, the .lo? files will fail. You can make your own .lo? files or edit an existing one with PyLO.

What if the .lo? files have more frames than the unit? I still want the SCV to have the engine overlay.

Make a separate .lo? entry? You can add more .lo? files in images.tbl. Just reference your newly added line in images.dat (for the overlay section). The program might say you referenced a nonexistent line, but just make sure you import your new images.tbl.

Add a wait in the walking animation.
Also, the lo? file should have at least as many entries as used frames. If you don't ever play the frame, you don't need an entry for it.

OK, so I made the .lo? file have 230 frames, but it still crashes.
(this may be related) Also, when I changed the values of the .loo file and placed it in the mpq, the changes did not show up ingame (for the scv).

Please help!
