If you really want to handle anything for the next 2 or 3 years, I'd recommend waiting until DX10.1 cards come out.

Really, I'd recommend Vista. I'm not sure, but I think you can dual-boot Vista and Xp if you wanted to.

Uh, powersupply and fans won't make your computer any faster, just the price higher :P

Powersupply is still required. :P
And i may or may not over clock depending on what i need to get. Fans are pretty cheap.

Don't get the X-Pleasure... For 130 dollars or so, you can definately get a better case, with better cooling properties, etc.
Some recommendations from me are...
Antec 900
Antec P180/P182 (doesn't really make a difference, just buy the cheaper one.)
Gigabyte 3D Aurora
NZXT Zero
COOLERMASTER RC-690
Just search them on Newegg. :\

Motherboard.. get an IP35-E http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813127031&Tpk=ip35-e
For the money, great overclocking motherboard. But don't get a 680i.. There are better chipsets.

Videocard... First, don't go SLI 8600GTS.. a single 8800GTS performs better. Just get a single 8800gts. Get the cheapest one on Newegg.

Processor is fine, but if you can get a Q6600, I would try getting that instead of a e6750.

Memory looks good, although I would only get 1 set at the moment.

Don't get a soundcard. From what I heard, Vista is having problems with sound cards, but regardless, there is definately other places you can put your money. You'd probably want a nice set of speakers with a sound card, so that's even more money.. =D

Depending on your case, we can decide what fans you need/want.

If you wait for nVidia's 9xxx series, you could be waiting for a while.. just my take on it.

Powersupply.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139003

Get a SATA DVD Drive

Hawk i need some reasons for switching the mobo. I really like the 680i.
May or may not OC.
Hmmm, maybe on the 8800GTX.
Ill check out the Q6600.
I want a soundcard, but ill wait until i can find one that can work with Vista.
Im going with your case, what do you reccomend on fans?

One of the main features the 680i offers is the fact that is has 16x/16x SLI. A lot of other SLI boards offer 8x/8x SLI. However, tests have been done to show that there is no difference in performance between the two. Besides that, the 680i is going to run you an extra 100 dollars for features you're not going to want. The 680i does not support the future 45nm CPUs that Intel plans on releasing in November, I believe.
If you told me why you like the 680i, maybe I could suggest something better, but to be honest, I really would recommend staying away from the 680i now.
Which one of the cases that I suggested are you going with. Regardless, I would recommend Yate Loons, sold at Jab-Tech for $3.50 dollars each (plus shipping :\) They are some of the best fans when it comes to airflow/price/noise.

If you are going to overclock, an aftermarket CPU heatsink would be a decent investment too. But we can get to that later. =p

The sword and the faith

Updated. And also thanks Deathawk. <3
Also:
Noise doesnt really bother me at all when it comes to any type of fan. Im usually shaking the house with my music.

Im not buying keyboard/mouse/speakers/monitor as i already have those from this comp, which when i have my new one, im selling. It isnt more than two years old but i bought at a bad time. :(

Alright, you probably don't need any more fans, but if you are going to get fans, I would recommend these. The RC-690 comes with three fans already, one front intake, one rear exhaust, and one side intake.

http://www.jab-tech.com/YATE-LOON-120mm-Case-Fan-D12SM-12-Medium-Speed-pr-3770.html

Well, if noise doesn't bother you, you could always pick up these.
http://www.jab-tech.com/YATE-LOON-120mm-Case-Fan-D12SH-12-High-Speed-pr-3771.html

Also, just so you know, there are two versions of the 8800gts, the 320mb and 640mb. They perform very close in lower resolutions, but once you get into higher resolutions, the 640 starts to get more of a lead.. If your monitor can run at 1680x1050 or 1600x1200, and you plan playing games at that resolution, then I would probably recommend the 640, but otherwise go for the 320.

The sword and the faith

Id like to stay on newegg for everything as my parents are already being silly about me ordering my comp in pieces. They doubt my amazing ability to put it together, which as ive explained will be very easy, but they refuse to believe me. :-_-: So if you could find those fans on newegg or link me to newegg fans that will work out.

The only things i dont know:
How to overclock and how much to do. Ill probobly be on AIM/MSN when i put this thing together so maybe you could help me out?

Im not skilled in the ways of CPU heatsinks and i hear it can go bad if you dont put it on right. Reccomendations on which one to get?

My question of which Vista to get still stands.

Fair enough, but you won't find Yate Loons on Newegg.
I think you'll be relatively fine without fans new fans, and it's hard to recommend anything besides Yate Loons.. :P

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835154001 for an aftermarket heatsink.

If you're going to get Vista, get Home Premium, but personally I think XP is fine for now if you already have it.

For $2000... I'm not going to go around giving exact pricing. I would much rather go with the E6850. Tech articles from the past month have shown that faster dual cores beat slower quad cores besides having better overclocking capabilities. Also, I'd suggest upping the graphics card to the GTX version. I mean, even the GTX can struggle with Oblivion at some points, but it fares better than the GTS. You also might want to get 4 Gb of Ram instead of 2. I know that Supreme Commander can easily use more than 2 Gb by itself, so keep that in mind. Whatever, it's your build, so you do what you want. I'd say that at the moment you have a cross between a workstation and a decent gaming rig, but if you want a rig purely for gaming, you can do much better even if you don't spend anymore money.

Well Felagund hardware isnt my thing, and as Deathawk is probobly one of the few people on here besides yourself who knows anything, ive been taking his word.

Im trying to keep below 1500$ unless absolutely necessary. But feel free to link me to any part you think would better suit what im doing and id be happy and appreciative to take a look.

Edit:
And also i am getting 4GB of RAM. 2x of the 2x1GB sticks is what i meant.

The only thing I would consider changing at this point is beefing up your PSU a little bit and upgrading the a 520HX by Corsair instead. It's a bit more expensive, though, but definately one of the best PSUs around.. I think you will be fine with the 450VX, but I guess better to be safe than sorry.
