There should be a new rule to prevent useless posts such as just quoting people and posting without any actual input. I think there should be a minimum of actually at least 10 or 20 characters other than the ones included in a quote.
None.
This isn't a forum where members are all 30+ with actual careers and talk with terrific grammar and paragraphs to everyone, and shit like that. Most of us are teens, and like to have fun. If there is a problem with a post, just report it. If nothing is done, then there is nothing wrong with the post according to the moderator who viewed & okayed it. Quoting is just a fun way of restating something someone else has said, the same way, because that is their exact response. Or they like the quote box around their text. Most of which happens in the null forum. This rule is what the SD forum is mostly like, but way more than 10-20 characters.
That isn't actually a quote, I just put a quote box around it.
This. And here is the 20+ character limit thing.
None.
Quoting doesn't get you minerals I don't believe. It does still get you a post, but since it's not actually benefitial to somebody, and not necessarily harmful to anybody, cracking down on it hardly seems like a good use of time.
None.
It also annoys me when people quote the poster above them for no reason. Is it obvious you're responding to that person?
Yeah, a character limit is silly, being able to communicate the same thing is less words is an art, if it's spam, report it, although I do admit, this forum is a lot less strict about spam that it used to be.

Especially long posts, possibly with images. The only time I see it necessary is if you are responding to a whole string of posts and you are responding in order of the posts.

It annoys me when some idiot new here quotes the entire first post and says...
Quote from name:Some Noob
good luk
...Directly after, or something that DIDNT require the entire post to be reposted.

lol marine.
posting just a quote is fine, usually when people do such, it's just to say "this person said my opinion perfectly already" or something such as.
i don't really see it abused in annoying fashion to make stupid rules about it.
fighting spam in general is something that we should definitely step up a bit.

Maybe there should be a rule that very long quotes (eg. multiple paragraphs/images) should have to go in collapse boxes. There would need to be a more specific guideline though.
None.
Guideline is common sense.
None.
You guys have complaints for people that make one line quotes. Then you have problems with people that make huge walls of text that have quotes followed up by rebuttles, it's really hard to please everyone... Making a rule for such a thing would be, possibly a step against spam, but it's a little bit too harsh. If somebody thinks there is too much text then PM them to make it a collapse box. If somebody is making too many one liners just quoting people then let the moderators know and they can possibly tell him to make some more posts...
None.
How is it too harsh to ask people to use common sense?

That annoys me the most. Nothing was added to the discussion. It's a waste of space and annoying.
tits
If you think its annoying, then just make your own forum where you're in charge. A Forum is where people express opinions, and thats just a way of saying 'I agree'.

It was a suggestion, calm down sir.

Edit: I don't think that you should have a rule against it, just leave it up to Moose/IP/whoever mod to infract these guys for spam. It is spam IMO because you are adding nothing significant to the discussion, just that you agree, which isn't useful enough.
Another thing is that on the other forum that I post on, instead of deleting the post, they just edit the post with big red letters saying "infraction for spam" or whatever. This is a better way to handle it because it also informs others who are too lazy to read the rules (who here has read the rules?) that it will get you an infraction. Makes sense?

Depends on the situation. If the topic was asking for people's opinions, in such a topic like this, saying you agree with one side or the other can be contributing.
