Boy: Mr. Turtle, how many bullets does it take to get to the Zergling in the center of a battlefield?
Mr. Turtle: I've never even made it out alive. Ask Mr. Owl.
Boy: Mr. Owl, how many bullets does it take to get to the Zergling in the center of a battlefield?
Mr. Owl: A good question. Let's find out. A One... A.two-HOO...A three..(crunched to death by Zerglings)

It is clear that the Gauss Rifle from the Brood War Intro scene had a Marine aiming at a Zergling, then with the camera showing the ammo limit, reveals a total of two hundred bullets coming down to thirty three in two seconds. Remember, the Gauss Rifle was fired before it revealed two hundred bullets were left. And from a range of two hundred to zero, it lasted for three seconds and was shown empty on the fourth second.

So, the question is, how many bullets does a marine need to kill/destroy [unit/building name here] before the marine is killed?

Do you really think Blizzard payed attention to a bullet count?

EDIT: http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/C-14_rifle Proves my point.

Yes, yes they did. Otherwise the camera wouldn't pay attention to the bullet count.

Where did StarCraft wiki get that source? Even so, what happens if the Marine were in stim packs? The world may never know.

500 rounds per clip in starcraft 2. That's a lot of metal.

Also remember that they made the gun fire faster with stim packs merely to balance it out, realistically a biological enhancement would not make a gun fire faster.

The Marines obviously doesn't hold down the trigger. Just one tap, over two hundred bullets is sent out. And I know if the Marine just holds down the trigger, the weapon will stay active. And of course, you don't have to re-link me that same page. I'm asking that where did StarCraft wiki get that source.

Have you read/seen them all? I've read a few of the novels, and they do discuss the C-14...

I wonder with ever burst how many rounds come out and also its 500 a clip then why did he only have 200 exactly. BECAUSE! if he wasted the other 300 on a poor zergling creature. Would it not take more than 200 bullets to take one down? and How is it the exact number? And also if it he fires only 200 bullets in 4 seconds divided that by the number of burst shots and then you get your answer on how much per shot takes XD

Btw I Love the video clip when on the orginal zerg mission where they terran get ambushed on on the amerigo which was a science vassal.

Now I got a few other questions

1. If the sci vessel is that big then compared to a battle ship shouldnt the size be bigger?(it held them and a shitload of zerg wtf!?!?!)
2. when they arrives to the big damn science vessel what was there transport....Iooked like a damn shoe box with doors and it had police lights?
3. If ghost carried only a standard c-10. Why was the Ghost guy carrying a C-20A Customer rifle? It was a custom body with a clip So I figured it is the C-20A.
4.If you watch the clip it took about three automatic shoots to take down a hydra Now how does it take three automatic(then two after word which didnt count) w/e c-14 to kill a hydra but takes 200 to kill a zergling!?!?!
5. also if terran were issued a pistol then How come *which I counted* 13 bullets did No Kill one damn hydra!3 shots killed one!(plus he fires one more shot before they all die so its actually 14 But he could of missed as the zerg nawed on his suit).
6.How can zerg hang from the roof? There is no roof and never was a roof. inside the ship prior the the movie...you dont see a roof. WTF!

I also Noticed when I watch the Starcraft dvd they mentioned they were running short on time and didnt get around to doing much so that this is really what they came up with. But hell they were happy to just get it done in time XD(Personally they sounded like they slacked off in the making of starcraft)

Suicidal Insanity -- On game start you could detect who is at which start location, store that in switches / dcs, and use that to permanently force alliances. Lots of combinations though

MTiger156 -- That 2v2v2v2 mapping problem does sound like an interesting challenge. Its worth putting some experimentation into. I could make an example map for combining locked alliances (based on lobby forces) + random start location. Though an EUD solution would be the most efficient, I will avoid that for the sake of simplicity.

well, that's the gist of sc mapping. Either accept the limits sc sets for you and work within those parameters, or get creative and find complicated solutions to achieve what you want. The latter can be most satisfying. Sometimes comprised are inevitable though. Also see my respnse in the thread.
