Holy crap. Thats awesome!

WOW!!! steps closer to making 3D gaming even more 3D
I am a Mathematician
Hmm... they still have a ways to go for 3d games. I don't see a huge advantage over something like that for games anyways, if anything, it would make games less enjoyable because it wouldn't be as crisp.
However, think if you could have your whole room on one of those platforms. You could literally look around your surrounds by moving your head. You could glance to your left without actually having to move your FPS guns there.
None.
Well, they could improve upon it to make it as crisp.

I would imagine the next thing they'd do for expirimentability and interactiveness is a rubiks cube, but you gotta go around it rather than it spinning for you. Of course, you could flip/rotate it anyway, but it's still cool >.>

This is a moderate jump in graphics technology as far as I'm concerned, but I think it's a bit of a dead end. It'd be hard to implement this technology in any kind of immerse atmosphere (such as a game), and it'd be unwieldy because you'd have to move around the object to get any kind of three dimensional benefit from it. I am personally more excited about the machine that sprayed a very fine mist or something into the air and then shot lasers out to create images. That premise seems to have a lot more promise for "real" virtual reality.
None.
Is it currently possible to mix weak lights, ones we can't see, with other weak lights to produce a light we can see, so that we can put lasers in a particular pattern so that they collide mid-air and produce a visible image?
None.
Reminds me of those LED clocks where the display is just a stick thing lined with LEDs and it goes back and forth rapidly, only this is in 3D.
None.
I wonder how badly you hand would be messed up if you touch it.
It probably would be all over the place

Meh, the video doesn't seem to be working for me. It's just blank with the pause button in the bottom left. Why can't everyone use youtube's format
None.
Interesting, but not so useful..
?????

Probably wouldn't mess up your hand.
But looking directly into it might mean blindness.
I bet cats would love something like this.

Lol cats would die. did any one watch the related video that was fast hands or w.e that was fucking crazy. Idk that hologram stuff is kewl though how the girl turned it and the head turned.

This is a piece of metal spinning at like 6000 rpm...
None.
I love the spin up.
I'm still thinking there's easier ways to do 3D, though.
None.
This is pretty sick, but im imagining a mirror that big spinning in your bedroom would be pretty damn dangerous lol.

Actually the video says 15-20Hz (right?), that's 900-1200 rpm

I think it said something like 20 fps, so 20 rps, 20*60 = 1200.
