I think Maplantis needs a new colour scheme, and more updated graphics and should probably only come out around the time SC2 comes out, when there will be a huge urge for online mapping communities of the sort... Until then it will just spark more controversial arguments on who goes where, which is better and more merging topics...

Maplantis going down was a bad thing. If anything staredit should have merged with Maplantis. Their site does look better than ours, but that should really just push IP to try harder and make this place at least as functional as Maplantis was. While well drawn, I don't find their comic funny/clever. I would have a field day coming up with funny SC cliches, but this would not cut it at all. I really wouldn't feel safe posting in a forum moderated by someone with such primitive undeveloped humor. They would probably not understand mine and delete all my posts. I also have never heard of VileGaming. On the other hand, I believe the majority of b.net knows something about staredit.net in some fashion. Just being staredit.net is an important commodity.

I mean there is a bug that prevents people from viewing topics they havn't read (if they do "view unread posts"), and its been there for like 2 weeks! Also you can't view wiki articles with some certain characters in the name? These should have been fixed when they were found. Where is IP? Moose can't do it alone! (note: and yes I would fix them myself if I had the chance, maybe i'll volunteer to help with the site soon when I have a little more time)

I think them merging with us would give similar results. The thing I like about SEN is the simple forum layout without the flashy and distracting ads on the side. Just out of curiousity, spartan, are you even reading this topic anymore?

SEN's purpose is in UMS/Modding Assistance/showcase. Everything else is gravy that you have to have to keep people coming back, or else they will leave. That "everything else" is also the source of drama, which at times is hilarious, but has to be kept in check.

They really need to fix their map submission functions. I know it's probably just the way the site deals with submissions, but their users clearly don't give a dam enough about the original creators to even mention them in the description.
