They're useful on both ends on the scale. It's easier for webmasters to spread their news. And it's easier for members/clients to read it, quickly. It takes some time getting used to if you're wanting to start using them. But Firefox has a build in RSS manager thing.

My experience with them is equivalent to 'WTF IS RSS?'. Honestly, (after looking it up), I think the news page is enough.

RSS is basically an e-mail account that shows you news from sites you subscribe to.

When ever I load Opera, a little pop up in the bottom right tells me if theres a new SEN news post. Therefore I dont have to waste time with the portal...evar ;D

RSS? Hell yeah. I never used to see the point... but when I started using them, I found it much, much easier to keep updated on news and webcomics. It's nice when you have many things to keep track of.
