-READ ALL OF IT OR NONE OF IT, DONT ONLY READ SOME OF IT THEN DECIDE TO SIGN UP-
Hey all, im going to be hosting a long-term tournament of Risk. Just reply here if you want to sign up. You must play a game involving 3-5 other participants. Scoring is as follows:
(Players): (place)-(points), etc.
4 Player Game: First-3, Second-2, Third-1, Fourth-1
5 Player Game: First-3, Second-2, Third-2, Fourth-1, Fifth-1
6 Player Game: First-3, Second-3, Third-2, Fourth-2, Fifth-1, Sixth-1

The top 5 participants with the most points will play a 5 Player Final Game, where First is First, etc. Top 5 will also receive invitations to join a Risk clan im going to be making. I already have 2 other people interested that i have deemed skilled at risk. Once i have 10 people total (so 3 more after this tournament) i will create a site, and we will organize ranks/etc. Once i know the participants, their servers, and their usernames, i will post them here. There are no rules on which map is used, how you can or can't micro, or whether you can team up or not. Just know that any players that had a victory on a team will be given their own individual rank. Example: Team 1 with 3 players beat Team 2 with 2 players on Risk Silver Ally/Aid. Each player in team 1 will be randomly given first second or third and each player in team 2 will be randomly given fourth or fifth. Therefore, teams are HIGHLY DISCOURAGED. The tournament will not officially begin until i make a new thread with a list of participants, and official rules. Please post here any games that are played in the following format:
Players: ExampleP1-1st, ExampleP2-2nd, etc.
Map: Risk II v2.0 (example)
Teams(if any at time of victory): Team 1-ExampleP1, ExampleP3, ExampleP4 Team 2-ExampleP2, ExampleP5
Date Played: 10-5-07 (example)
Server Played On: US East (example)
Link to site of or email of player with a replay would be appreciated.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SIGN UP AS A JUDGE, PM ME. Judges cannot play, they are simply people that will help me keep this thing organized. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE, POST HERE. Participants cannot judge.

I am hopefully going to allow participants to start playing games by the end of the month. The most participants allowed will be 20. If i have 20 participants before the end of the month, i will allow games to commence. Questions, comments, or concerns? EatMeReturns5@aim.com.

I assume this is the boardgame Risk, being played online via a small file download, and not the Starcraft map made after the same game?

Gillette, if you actually play starcraft, you would know that RISK is a popular map in Starcraft. A of ST, I don't think this game would really need a judge as much because it is not like you can actually observe the people play it. Unless you can help him see replays.

A_of-s_t, no need to be so harsh.

Forums are DONE. Well, done as in I'm leaving the area to do other things.
LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. After awhile, I'll generally leave the area alone and not do any work on it until I revisit.
Currently working on: DLDB tools for the DLDB managers. Probably the DLDB in general as well.
Next in line: Message center, Mod night, Wiki

When I read it, it wasnt explicitly stated as being a Starcraft map. Damned if SEN tries to start a project that doesnt involve Starcraft!

No, I even know what Starcraft is; I just like to feel like a big man by bashing on other people. Strangely enough, I dont see many games of Risk, and I UMS often.

this is news'ed because im planning on eventually turning it in to a ladder, i have submitted information to 4 other sites. website: http://www.freewebs.com/pingcommunity/riskladder.htm
replies in order:

gillette, this is starcraft risk.

a of st, judges are required to have some knowledge of how freewebs works, because they will be helping me update information on it.

echo, yes, i will have as many judges as i can in a reasonable amount of time (48 hours) watch replays before posting the game victor.

yes, im soviet_eatme, no, this is starcraft risk.

skipping isolated...

payne, added. is your sc username Payne?

same reply to you insanecrazy.

I just think that the tournament seems so insignificant compared to everything else happening with SEN at the momment for this to be taking up almost the whole front page...

SEN is all about map-making, and the usage of maps made. It is about gamers playing player-made maps. Eventually, im hoping that this will evolve in to something like scdiplo.com, except with risk.

What exactly is "freewebs"? Does this involve coding of some sort? If it does, I'm down with that. Post a link or something so I can check it out.
