The latest testing version of Firefox 3 (Firefox 3 Release Candidate 2) has just come out for use. Check it out!

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-rc.html

I like it a lot so far. It seems faster, the new download bar is better, browser bar is better, and some cool new buttons. Definitely improving from Firefox 2.
thoughts?

Great! It created 3 new icons. When I try to delete the other two, it wont let me.

Ew, all of my skins don't work with this new version. I hope it does not have anything wrong with it. >_>

that's simply because the compatibility has not been updated in your skins yet.

I like how if and when you remove the Bookmark tool bar it looks similar to Internet Explorer 7... <_<

Yeah, it also created this for me to. I can't delete them either. :(

I also like the minor modification when you click and hold on a link, the box that surrounds the button you just depressed turns that color, for the most part. EX: Depressing on ones colored name, mine for instance, would create a dotted green rectangular box around my name.

I love how when you type something in to the address bar it finds a match by each letter. Try it! ^_^

Aw shoot, all my nice plug-ins have been fried. Hopefully they're all updated soon.

The new browser skin isn't spectacular, but it's nice to see new stuff.

I think it's pretty much the same as Firefox 2 except much faster on older hardware. I'll stick with Opera 9.5.
Bye!

Firefox 3 seems colossally better than Firefox 2. Unfortuntately, they are still playing catch-up with Opera, and they're still probably about a year behind (as opposed to IE, which is about 10 years behind Firefox). Firefox 3 still doesn't pass Acid3, like Safari and Opera did months ago. I've tried to make the move to Firefox several times (free software is almost always better than the proprietary alternatives, and has all sorts of advantages), but unfortunately, Firefox doesn't contain the feature set I use on a day to day basis, although Firefox doesn't use a lot of memory.

No, Firefox.

I already got RC 1, I'll have to check this out.

I've seen that graph before. And you know what? When I've got 2GB of memory, I could care less if I save 50MB. I only really have two programs up when browsing the internet, and they don't even use 50% of my memory. So what do I care if it could start up in a second less? It's already plenty fast enough.
Bye!

I just downloaded the latest Opera beta and did a test on both browsers. While Opera scores more than Firefox (78/100 compared to Firefox's 71/100) they both fail to pass the test. This may be a huge improvement over Opera 9.27 where the browser actually crashes half the time and gets 46 when it doesn't but its still barely better than Firefox.

I used Firefox 3 release candidate 2 build 2008052903 and Opera 9.5 b2 build 9945.

http://acid3.acidtests.org/

Now that thats out of the way, what are the features found in Opera that aren't present in Firefox or an addon for Firefox?

Opera did it with an internal build. I don't think they released it.

Well if you don't have it then it doesn't exactly count does it? Also, could you answer my question, I'm curious.
