If your PSU does not have a 6 PIN PCIe connector, you can use a Molex to 6 pin PCIe adapter shown here:

Aren't GPU's are supposed to have a more dedicated power line? And I basically got the same GPU shown there, except mine didn't come with the 4 - pin to 6 pin cable.
I have a 4 Pin PCI connector. Is there an adapter for that? (I.E. 4 pin PCI connector to 6 pin PCI connector) EDIT: I said it wrong. This post was edited 1 time, last edit by KilaByte: May 23 2008, 10:05 pm.

1.)
GPUs get their power from the slot they're plugged into along with the connector that is plugged into them. 2.) A 4 pin molex would be the one you plug fans into. Your four pin is not going to be of any help unless you get an adapter that can adapt it to a 6pin. The cable you say you don't have, that is the one you need. You need to plug two molex connectors into that and plug that into the video card so you have a 6 pin PCIe connector. Without the power supplied by that, you're not going to be able to use the video card. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
