Self-explanatory.
Please state connection Type (dial-up, cable, dsl, satilite) and also your ISP if you feel like it.
(i'm probably missing some poll options so don't get mad.)

I have a 640k cable connection and my ISP is Fibertel (most of you probably dont know it)

On-campus connection. Downloads about 50% faster than my 8mb/sec cable connection, and that's with some stupid technology that is supposed to give me a boost for 10mb parts of a file at a time, so I'd even venture to say that my connection's 15mb/sec or more. I'm thinking a T3 connection.

I get about 1mb/s when my computer's plugged in, but when I'm mobile and using the wireless connection, I have to search around a bit if I'm even going to manage dial-up type speeds, since the signal's not terribly strong where I'm usually roaming.

Lol nice Deathawk, showing that Comcast's "Power Boost" feature does actually (I never tested it out myself) work on smallish downloads (not for extended periods of time). After all, Comcast's max download speed is 8 mb/sec and upload speed is... searching... 768 kb/sec. Still, a lucky test, looks like you took it several times to get those high speeds. ^^

That's strange.

The strange thing is that those speed tests tell me I get very high download rates with comcast, except I never exceeded about 800kb/sec sustained. However, at college, I get substantially higher sustained downloaded speeds even though those bandwidth tests tell a different story.

lol, actually Felagund, that was the only time I took it, and I had 5 tabs open(not sure if this would make a difference, most likely not.) and AIM open at the time.

I don't know much about this Comcast Ready Boost, however I know all I did was take the test. Nothing fancy.

I, by far, have the best download speed yet:

I stayed at that speed for quite a while, so it isn't glitched, I also tested it a couple of times.

I live in a less populated area, unlike DSL, cable slows down depending on how many people are using the same hub.
