I've tried every single avatar that was allowed on the last sen (All my pwnsome ones :) ) and none of them are small enough. I want a .png for clear backgrounds, .gif for animations. Hell, it wont even upload my .jpg image that goes with my siggy.

Please make the size up to at LEAST 75kb :(

I agree that 15kb is too small. I believe 50kb should be a fair size.

Current size is 125x125, and I don't think it should be any more than that.

The way things are now, pages load in a reasonable amount of time even on an über-crappy wireless connection. I'm not saying that you should necessarily keep things as they are now, but please, don't go overboard on allowing huge avatars; fast page loading is a good thing.

I think 100x100 avies is actually a good size, with at least 50kb? Some of my animated avatars' sizes are too big to be used.

I'd have to agree with Adver., that 100x100's good ( although I'd rather use 96x96 for my own avatar, personally =P ) .
Would it be possible to have a custom, personal max on how large avatar filesizes displayed can be, and any larger than X are just replaced with a generic for the viewer?

Please raise the avatar size, at least 40kb or something.

I personally like 150x150 but 125x125 can probably work for me.

But raise the KB pleeeease.

I agree, I had to do some serious manipulation to get my avatar to fit... 150x150 seems like the standard dimensions, but raising the file size is far more important.

I agree, i think that at least 80% of the people here use at least a dsl connection and i dont buy this crap:

Just to be sure on the 80% thing, im off to the tech forum to make a poll on connection speeds.

IP and Moose want you to have to pay even more minerals to get a larger filesize allotment for avatars.

I think that any larger avatars should be hosted from other sites, as SeN is sorta.. Slow when it comes to loading, one reason why they want to keep the avatar sizes low, although I admit that 15 kb outrules pretty much any animated avatar, unless you compress it to like 24 colors.

I think external linking would increase load time more than having SEN host bigger files.

aye... because then you are hitting multiple sites instead of just one...
at least, i would assume so...

Bigger avatar space? Having free avatars isn't good enough? Ungrateful! :)
Reason is: DTBK is right. You have to not only buy avatars, you have to buy items to increase their space. Try compression. Or a different avatar. Or anything right now.

Or... you could just tell me you don't want minerals all together. Which would save me a lot of hassle. But I hope you don't do that... because I have a whole economy idea in my head which, hopefully, everyone will be pleased with. More fun than v4 where minerals did nothing. Either minerals are completely have a use or... minerals go away. And not only do I want to have the basic things you claim as necessary to be free, I also want nice little twirks. Like, you can buy extra topic icons that will be animated to give your topic an extra edge on being noticed. And more. If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them. Extra bbcode as an item! Maybe! Little mini-avatar next to your name on every page? Possibly! Glowing name? No. Don't even ask for that one :) .

But in order to have minerals, there needs to be mineral sinks. A game where everyone has 500k gold and no reason to have it makes gold really, really boring. On the downside, making minerals all that much more important will probably increase spam. Hopefully we will come down hard on that. Sometimes it's hard to tell. I guess spamming for minerals = farming ;o.

And... yeah, it might suck that it'll be a little while to get what you want... but hopefully soon, minerals will be flowing better. They are a bit bugged right now. And I will probably decrease the negative starting amount and give everyone that much minerals once I have things more ironed out.

I have plans. Be patient.

Forums are DONE. Well, done as in I'm leaving the area to do other things.
LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. After awhile, I'll generally leave the area alone and not do any work on it until I revisit.
Currently working on: DLDB tools for the DLDB managers. Probably the DLDB in general as well.
Next in line: Message center, Mod night, Wiki
