Twisted Metal/Vehiclar Combat?

I was thinking of making a vehicle combat map. There would be a world of problems when making it, but i think thats what makes a map great, when you defy these snags. Anyways, it would be a lot like twisted metal/vigilante 8, where its a huge demolition derby, but with pick-up-able weapons. The main vehicles would be Vultures, Tanks and Reavers. (and their heros) any one have any ideas? I need a lot of ideas, like for units/vehicles, names, weapons, etc. Just list as much as you want! ^^

What problems do you think will occur? I don't see any issues other than health issues when changing vehicles, but you could implement a vhp system to solve that.

Thats what I was thinking for vehicles, but thats where i run into a problem-I need moar. I was thinking of adding a wraith, but no other air units, just to be interesting.

Some problems would be Weapons, and stuff like that. Like, i was hoping to keep a unit on the vehicle, like it does in vigilante 8, and for your special in Twisted metal.

Anyways, i need moar ideas, plz!

It's from Moose's movie map Probert the Probe. Maybe you should do something like crashes? Not sure how you could trigger it but you would do something like crash into another car and get damaged by irradiated SCVs?

Line the walls with locations that blow up your vehicle if you hit them.

OOoooo I remember playing Twisted Metal and that game was pretty bad ass....but I don't think using Reavers would be a good idea. If you are gonna make it like TM...How are the different weapons gonna be implemented?

My guess would be a Virtual Combat System. One with dropships or unit making buildings as options. Hotkey Required.

Revers are too slow IMHO to be useful for a map like this. I think you should just stick with the larger units and leave the rest up to the imagination.

Always Center Location "Car" on Player [Vehicles]
Enemy Player Brings at least 1 [Unit] to Location "Car"
Play "Crashed"
Spawn 1 Wraith at Location "Car"
Kill all Wraith at Location "Car"
Remove 1 "Virtual HP Counter"

Ooh! The crash idea is now being used! I will be using a the building weapon system, but i need ideas for weapons. I will use [Vi3t-X]'s ideas for vehicles, and maybe keep one reaver as a garbage truck, plus have one wraith unit. I still need moar tho, and ideas for weapons. ^^

Have Air Units with the "Silent Movement Trick".

ALWAYS
Center location "Carrier" on "(Unit) Carrier"
Preserve Trigger

Player brings at least 1 "Person" to "Carrier"
Move "Person" to "In Vehicle"
Create 1 "DT" at "(Location) Carrier"
Preserve Trigger

Player brings at least 1 "DT" to Location "Carrier"
Center Location "Carrier" on unit "DT"
Preserve Trigger


So if the DT moves anywhere, the carrier will sort of move with it.

Ic, but why would I need that? The only way I can see that ethical is if the DT could effect the health to the wraith so that ground units could attack it. (Yes, I know how to do this)

You could try using a sprite gunner system to implement multiple weapons on one vehicle/mech.

Power Ups are essential.

They should respawn over time (Death counters). Include health, armor (if you have it in your VHP system). and weapon pickups/upgrades.

This could turn out really cool if done well.
