Please Read

This post will take, quite a while if that, to develope its true diversity. I will try to post and update as much as I can, and Devote some of my spare time to post/update this topic.

Myself and 3 of my friends played this map. With knowledge of the triggers, locations, events, and where to go, we successfully completed the game in 13 tries, and for the final try, we completed it in our fastest time: which was 1 hour and 12 minutes. I expect other players to take longer and have more tries. This game will be long, so only play it when you have time, or unless you save.

All basic/complicated mission triggers are complete. The reason the trigger progress is so low is becuase of the misc triggers. Ex: medkit usage, banning, about 17 messages, and much more other little options. This applies also to the second chapter. The screenies will be a mix of ch.2 and ch.1.

If this post is showing up, then congratulations on being able to actually see it. If it doesn't show later or in a few seconds, i'm sorry but something is going wrong. I would like some administrive help on this problem?

I fixed it. If anything is happening like this with your post, then read this!! If your post has writing in it, but it isn't showing up, then get rid of maybe 50% of all your posts color! Trust me, I know it will work. If it still isn't showing up, them get rid of more color.

Station 54 RPG - The Four-Chapter RPG Saga

Well, The friggin' MB space on this forum is less than a freaking USB Importer. I can't load any images on SEN with the little amount of MB for each topic. I will not have pictures for about 2 weeks. So please do not delete this topic
Screenshot Info. at bottom of the topic. Screenies will be in by the weekend of 4/21/08. Details below.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Description: Station 54 RPG is an action packed/challenging series of RPG's. I will explain each part to this RPG below. To get a basic over view of the series, the first chapter is based in a desert region. All of these RPG's are based on the same planet, by the way. The second chapter is based in a forest/small town/badlands region. The third, is based actually inside the installation. The fourth chapter, is based in the same as the second.

Storyline

In the year 2038, the earth has been corrupted and broken by chaos, hatred, prejudice, racism, exploition, war, and hell. Millions ran, including the entire SF-FA + 750,000 citizens, and the UGMC + 13 Million Citizens. With their own empires growing, the UGMC has attained the planet Garel, and the SF-FA remain in space, always moving, never stopping. The most elite of the SF-FA are Ryan, Cassie, John, and Nick. These 4 have been sent on uncountable missions, but now it is their biggest one. UGMC mass mobilization has been detected on Garel, and the SF-FA fleet has arrived in orbit to check it out. Long-time allies, the SF-FA and the UGMC had no reason to fight. But, without notice, the SF-FA was attacked by UGMC air forces. over 746,000 civillians died in the attack, and out of the 4,000 remaining, only 738 are soldiers, and of the 738, remain Ryan, Cassie, John, and Nick... During the attack, the team fled on a damaged dropship, and are heading for where the UGMC mobilizations have occured...
This, is their story.

I hope to be able to finish these two RPG's by early summer, since that is when they will most likely be done and over with, possibly even released. I will need testers for about oh... two months at a time. I can take 3 testers on east and west. If you would like to become a tester, than please reply to this topic stating you want to.

It should be working now. But if it disappears again, please send me a message as soon as you see it and i will try and fix it again. Thanks.

Candle12345:
Yes and No. The spells are only going to be actually usable on the second, third, and fourth chapters. The first chapter just gives the introduction to series, and is not very complicated. The following chapters, however, get more complicated. For example; the second chapter has use of medkits and 1 spell, unlike the first chapter. In the first chapter you must go to the medics themselves to heal. In the third chapter, there will be 3 spells per character; each unique, none the same. Also use of medkits, door codes, and possibly items that must be used for interaction game-play. The fourth chapter, will be most complicated I hope. The players will know the RPG and storyline, and can easily figure out their objective. I will have atleast 5 spells per charcter, 4 unique and one universal spell. Medkits, ofcourse, and items. Possibly even more interaction between charcters, options for the game, such as difficulty, and/or yes/no options with NPC's.

Characters will have universal health, damage, and armor. I will not change their health amount, damage, or armor on different RPG maps. They will have their own roles, and certain places on each map can only be actiavted, played, etc. by a certain charcter, which, I hope, adds a bit of difficulty in survival.

The plot overview... dang. Well, short and sweet for the moment. The UGMC basically wants the SF-FA out of their buisness, and the only to do that is... well you can guess I bet. The plot really starts to come into play during the second/third chapter. The UGMC has a new project in mind to enhance the skills of their soldiers through experimental surgury; with chemicals and steroids, and tries to keep it a secret. The project was named Project Igorus. Igorus I think was a greek philosopher that believed in enhancemtn in human skills by numbing, taking out, or intesnifying sensitivity to a nerve ending. That is why i chose the name "Project Igorus".

And yes, I might need some help later in the process of the series, just incase I get overflowed with work and need to take a break for a little bit. If i need help, I will send you the maps I'm working on with triggers/terrain/units etc. If you want, ofcourse. I dont want to pressure you ;). I like to take pride in my work. So do alot of people, but sometimes they don't accept help too often.

Candle, I forgot to answer if these were based off of the Station RPs, and what is going to be new.

No, it is not based off of the Station RPs, those have their own little plot design. These RPG's are totally new, and have literally nothing to do with those RP maps. What will be new? On the the third chapter, I am going to make it hard to find their way. I will make seperate sections of the map, and I want these sections to take a while for the player to solve. I will place recordings around each facility, giving hints here and there of where to go. When a recording is activated, the beacon or w/e I use will disappear, giving the player a message themselves that they have already been in this area. That way, they are never lost, technically, but they are never going anywhere as fast as most RPG's, unless they have played it over, and over and over. BUT!! I want to randomize each section the players go to, so that no matter how much they play, they might get a new section of the map they didn't get last time. This will be a challenge for me, since I have never used randomizing triggers before. But, with a little confidence and the need to to get it done, I bet i can compromise ;).

So no, Candle, these RPG's have nothing to do with the Station RPs and with my previous reply, I have given the other new features these 4 maps have. If you want a description for a particular map, (Chapter One, Two, Three, or Four) then just ask me, and I will be glad to give you what imformation about that map I can. If you want me to post it, I can and will once I have the time. I haven't been posting the rest of First Strike because, well, I haven't had all the glorious time I would like.

I really can't wait to give this a spin.
When done right, installation maps are the epicness, and this is sounding really good. ^^

Apr 3 2008, 11:05 pm Marine Post #11

Well, candle, only one of these RPG maps is an installation. The first is a desert, the second is badlands, and the fourth is also badlands. I was maybe thinking, after the third chapter, the fourth chapter would be the same terrain of chapter 2, just backwards, and it would be harder than chapter 2 itself. Or, I could make it the players exit the installation at anotehr point, and have to run the opposite direction than whence they came from in chapter 2. I promise, I will make chapter 3 insane and awsome, just for you guys on SEN. :)

But don't expect to be testing any time soon. These maps take a long time each, and I have barley finished chapter one and started chapter two. Chapter three and four I only have the first basic terrain layers accomplished, and besides that, imagine all the triggers each map takes.

Just here for the pie

I require screenies, even though it sounds good, but you have a habit to mostly just give us storyline details and not gameplay screenshots.

Apr 3 2008, 11:15 pm Marine Post #13

Oh yes, those are coming very shortly. Give me atleast a week, and screenies will be in. But i have a question, should I make the screenies from in-game, like in starcraft, or in the editor? Need a vote so I know what to add in the topic.

Alright. That will have to be done This* weekend, (Im sorry about that, I forgot that this weekend was still comign up) since the computer here can't take screenshots that can be properly loaded onto SEN. I accidently set the program to open with as some image thing, and now they are un previewable, and I can't fix it. Unless I can put on unpreviewable pictures that will show?
Hold, on im going to try and load up a picture onto the topic. How do i load it on? It takes way too long. Do i just browse it and then click attach this? Will the file name come up? How will I know it is on?

After I list the 4-5 objectives and more details + screenies for the first chapter, I will start to post the second. Becuase there is a limit now on how many characters you use, It might have to be a completely seperate topic, which I don't want to do.

hey, make a prequal, you know, like what is happening during the suprise attack. I would like to play that and find out how and where the team found the dropship and fled. I think it would be cool to see the inside of one of those ships and see how well you can do with prequals. that'd be awsome, i think.
