I bet this isn't that original, but I'll post it anyway. I started terrain for a simple metropolitan city that may or may not become an "Escape from New York" type of deal, and this is what I've got so far. First I'm trying to see if I can even make decent structures, then I'll position 'em to look like streets and such. Keep in mind that I'm on a Mac and up until recently (thanks to Nai's UnKnown Edit), I haven't been able to do any sort of special terrain editing for any maps so I'm a total newb at this.

Please don't be too harsh... :><:

EDIT:
The smaller non-building things were concepts for small lightposts that I may put around the city.

Hey, inferno, I think you should identify the blends that aren't blocky with something like [*] so people can watch only the good ones... because as I check the pictures, I see many are only nice tries, but no more since it's so much blocky...

That would not only take up a lot of characters, but it's also kind of mean to shove somebody's Terrain aside from everyone elses and say it's not good.

Here's another thing I'm working on. Again, not too original, but I think I'm at least getting the hang of this.

Not bad. What editor are you using? If you're using Scmdraft, I recommend using rectangular terrain to randomize the water, because the waves look repetitive.

The middle of the bridge mainly uses 2 tiles. You only used 1. and By that I mean the bridge doodad, not the rest you included in there. Just a slight thing you can fix, but yeah you will get the hang of this terraining soon. ^^

I'm using Unknown Edit, which is the only working terrain editor for Mac thusfar (aside from GUEdit, but who honestly wants to use that ever again?). I remember a while back there was news of an SCM Draft for Mac, but I believe that completely fell through.

Ultimately I'll just put random tiles around it myself, so that wont be an issue. :)

Devlin, the roof is awesome, but I dislike your bridge. It seems easy, like there's nothing new there. It's blocky of course, but fixable. Even when fixed, though, I don't think it's ladder worthy, unless you can add in something new.
Of the sparkling wines, the most famous is Perth Pink. This is a bottle with a message in, and the message is 'beware'. This is not a wine for drinking, this is a wine for laying down and avoiding.

Another good fighting wine is Melbourne Old-and-Yellow, which is particularly heavy and should be used only for hand-to-hand combat.

I gotcha, just thought I'd post it anyway. Here's my next work in progress:
(user posted image)

Again, blocky and perhaps unoriginal, but I'm trying. I just wish I could put some sprites in and spruce it up a bit that way.

EDIT:
I plan on redoing the right side and fixing the middle of the ramp (that thing on the top), but what do y'all think of the rest?

Everyone here is getting better :D . Not only is this a way to compete for glory and respect from your peers, but it's also a great way to improve your terraining skills :D .
