Theres a problem with tanks ai in this.. they are not sieging well if made late game. If you want some help on fixing this you can ask me i know a way to fix it

looks like your goin same route as i whent for past a year ago.. that refund on demolish buildings is good for strategy xd i got that idea from a guy called bertro maybe this guy told you to try go this way.. and well for the investment idk how you make it if its like in dsa (desert strike angel) or more like in my ds both ways have pros and cons. The investment i added a year ago to my ds map adds good strategy.. and an end timer on income lots of ds classic players like too.. looks like your goin in the right direction here xd.. from playing your ds map what you need work on is a map max trigger increasing the time in between spawns to prevent mass to max out so easy bugging the map.. also you could redo the spawn systems on the map so that units all spawn instant instead of spawning in chunks as they do now, and make units spawning in two lanes instead of 1 gives mass fight a great look. The most important thing about a ds is that units ai dosent bug like tank and lurkers and balance in general of all units in a way that you can show any unit building would be good against some spawn setups from the other team. ive heard some negatives about your goliaths stats in the map.

If you want i can show you a replay of the tank not beeing smart at all cause they dont siege...

Hello Everybody,

There has been a massive bug that corrupted the entire 1.6 release. This was due to big addition that was being added that requires none GUI script inputting.

It's rare for this to happen using notepad++ or external scripting sources then ScmDraft but, it does. Everything was working in v1.6 fine then " :massimo: ".

I'm not very happy about it :curse: . This leave me with 3 options:

A - I locate and try to resolve it but, not all corruption can be and release v1.7

B - I rebuild v1.6 again from v1.5 base and release under v1.7. (less desired)

C - Let v1.6 fall into obscurity an let v1.5 thrive until v1.7. (far less desired)

There are few v1.6 release copy's in circulation that are playable however one group of releases are not optimum. I didn't advertise them as much so that's good news.



Good news! I was able to recover backup just before the corruption. This saved me hours. Everything is back on track now besides the few circulating. :oops:

I've gained permission from Lanthanide to use the title "DesertStrikeNightFixed" and to maintain official updates.

Replying to confirm the above - I approve of this taking on the Desert Strike Night - Fixed naming, and am happy with it being numbered 3.0.

Map Updated: 3.0

Here what to expect below:

- Added "Cash Interest System" which pays interest rates on the balance reserved in bank.
~ Interest rates payout start at $2.5k, $15k and 45k ~
~ Interest rates will pay out even during cash delay ~
~ You will earn $8 per second on each rate stacked ~

- The bank will now show your full balance available.
~ In other words if you deposit $500 you will see $500 in the bank. ~

- The leaderboard "Income" has now been changed to "Cash"
- The leaderboard "Savings" has now been changed to "Bank"
- The "Game Information" in game has been updated.
- The map has been renamed to "DesertStrikeNightFixed"

- Fixed notorious bug where reavers would freeze because warp prism.
~ This was due to the constant load tracking of the shuttle ~

- Protoss warp prism behavior will no longer reach enemy temple.
~ The shuttle will self destruct and re-sync spawn times ~

- Random minor tweaks and improvements overall.

I agree with most.
I disagree with the spawn. i prefer having a centralise map it is better to count and estimate what is going to happen. while it is not when units are spread out.

and at a point where we pass 400 500 untis it becomes just too much. thats a thing i dislike about all DS.

If you play dsn fixed263 youll notice that units pile up even they are spawned from one line. having units spawning from two lines actually makes the units meet fighting to die more quickly or push faster. instead of piling up slowly maxing the map like crazy. anyway if you have an good anti map max trigger and spawn units instant to be start move from temple i find that way better maybe thats just me. in part of low units spawned there would still be a micro balance for units in low numbers to be fighting, in part of macro is more easy to balance out the units if they have the strength of spreading out instead that you need set the spread out units like hydra and gols to be soo strong that they can spread out slowly (cause if too weak healthpower they would be really bad like goons is in dsn263).. this causes the problems of map max in dsn fixed 263 cause units arent killed fast enough so they stack up more and more. But yeah its a matter of choice whether what you like

In case that you like spawning slow in one line sand casle wars is the best map you can play

You added Split spawn system that i invented in my DS thats nice midnightime, i think its good to avoid unit unplaceable tho this guy qccorado sees it opposite. Now you just need add such anti map max trigger system that i have invented too. youre ofcourse free to open my map and check how i did it. the system i use prevent units to pile up on the battlefield by prolonging the countdown timer when alot of units is spawned fairly easy system to do.

How much split spawn do you use 2 instead of 1? i use 5 +1 for special units infront of spawn in my map. also when having split spawn systems for units spawned you can make units spawn instant instead of units beeing spawned in chunks when there is room for units. when units spawning instant it looks alot better i think like a giant mass attack. I truly believe you have or need test this alot.. cause this system took so many test for me to perfect, but when you got it, its feels so good and it looks good too

What about youre lurker AI system can it be improved? they still seem to unburrow while enemy units near em, like i tryid one game with terran vs zerg where i didnt go science vessel at somepoint it wasnt needed even vs maxed queen lurker amount.. but this was version 263 tho. in general lurkers dosent burrow when enemy units in sight they only burrow when beeing attacked in youre system.

I dont think the bank system is good for youre map at least not the way it is. I also dont think the refund system you have is good if only 25 or 50% is refunded.

I can suggest you add a bank system that can be used (one time again and again) it locks the investment you did so when you did the investment so you cant undo the investment and it gives the payout after some time. like the investment system i have.. so like you buy the investment at a price lets say 500. and than nothing happens other than youre substracted 500 minerals but after 5 min of time you suddently get like 800 minerals back. that way you get interest after some time but youre without 500 for some time aswell thats the strategy about investing. with youre system you can add or withdrawn all the time that way you can add like 50k into bank which is too much i think because you can withdrawn em at any time you need cause the investment is not locked.. (if you keep youre system you could add the bank to be locked for some time after you have added to bank this adds strategy into using it)just a feeling i have its abit weird that system you have now.. make it simple and easy is the way to go with such an investment system. with investing 500 and getting 800 you can still invest like 5000 minerals really fast and get 8000 back after 5min to 5min and 10sec. i hope you understand the system i explain to you, cause im sure that would be way better and more simple to use. And i can help you explain on how to do it if you need my guide.

I like the time frame you put into the map but 90 min is too long id say still. You need to look into making the terran spec more balanced for faster games. and lower the time frame on the game into like 40 or 50 min. and with an investment system you can stil gain some interest while main income is off. if you add complete take over on the terran spec and lower the nuke(bc dmg to 4 times lower) than players can use the terran spec as counter in any situation. it would be as good as other specs.. than the main point is to make youre army strong enough to win the games.. faster games only increase the players enjoyment when playing.. you might need adjust the gas delays and the gas incomes to fit the low game time on 40-50 min. Thats my adviced to you. Tho you not giving me much credit on giving you my guides.

I think you got a long way into perfecting this map tho i wish you all the best from here

Map Update: 3.1 (Temporarily Delayed)

What's going on? I've decided to add another major system. This is undergoing testing for potential implementation.

Please be patient as this involves every system in the map and it's mechanic can break a variety of things if not thorough.

The details will remain in suspense for now until it's promoted into a solid confirmation. :wub:.

Map Update: 3.1 (Eta Release 7/14 - 7/16)

Great News! The new mechanic has been implemented and I'm happy to share the news about it below:

- Added "Dark Stacking System" which allows you to stack buildings for unlimited space.
~ This will only work with Terran and Protoss. Zerg are exempt to this mechanic.
~ You must ctrl+1 the scv or probe while in darkstacking or darkness will take it.
~ You can darkstack as much buildings you want on top of your own buildings ~
~ You can darkstack as much buildings you want on top of your teammates buildings ~
~ You can't darkstack gas on top of gas as intriguing this is to thought.
~ Temporary fog of war (unexplored) will be noticed but, fades as expand.
~ Darkstack with caution as you still will need to click upgrades in buildings.
~ Darkstack uses no EUD's so extended options are still available while hosting.
