[DSA] Desert Strike Angel




The rpg is in making and testing, the new version DSA 7.0s (no eud) and 8.0s (with eud).

1. DSA 7.3.0 (no eud): has released

2. DSA 8.0 (with eud): in testing


1. Automatic adaptation of SCR's language (English, Chinese or Korean):
When your SC is English, the dsa will display English text in default; When your SC is Chinese (Korean), the dsa will display Chinese (Korean) text;
It's automatic. You can change the language by pressing the key "F8".

2. Need upgrade and research technology in default mode; You can choose the mode which needn't upgrade and research technology.
And dsa has 21 modes and you can do arbitrary combination. You can even change unit properties by one mode of them.
You can make all players spawn units in 0s at the same time by the Combined Spawning mode (Mode 16).

3. Having a Auir Center (use bomb, become ob, clear the map fog, add enemy map fog, creat workers for computer and so on).

4. Two markets, two Operation direction, two resource requirements and so on.

5. In short, dsa emphasizes competitiveness, balance, playability and rich tactics as SC's normal confrontation (TvB).
In other words, it wants to be a normal confrontation without operation.

Press the key Insert for help in game.

This seems really advanced is All modes balanced? Is the unit stats as blizzard made em or Are they changed? How many combinations of game modes Are there?

The balance problem only considers the default mode. And I don't konow the other modes' balance. You can download the map and the replays to see in Post #1.Maybe you will have your own opinion.

Just watched two of the videos You linked too. I had pretty bad connection to the site so the videos was not to great i hope the replays be better. But it seems to me that dsa is really famous on chinese server. I have never seen it hosted on us servers and for the couple times ive been on the korean server i did neither see it hosted there. But if the replays will be good Ill might try host couple times on us servers. From the videos i watched it seemed abit to advanced for My taste but we Will see i watch replays later today

1. I can help you translate your map into Chinese but I don't know Korean at all.
2. Your ds is a good version, maybe I can give my suggestions later. Now I don't have much time to play SC.
3. The dsa is just popular in China (No.1 rpg there), but not outside for some reason, such as Chinese network is not well connected to the external network, old versions were just played in SC 1.08b (the main SC) and so on, at the same time, it is more complex than the general version.
4. You can leave your ID in SCR and then the next version will write it into the map to open the dsa 8.0 beta with other players. Maybe it will give you new and valuable ideas to update your version. I will look forward to it.

1. Could be cool if You minded to help me out with chinese translation we Will have to find an easy way to do it. do You have scmdraft with trigger editor, Else i can copy All text into a note file for You to translate stuff.

2. You played My New ds? It would be good with suggestions tho i reached a point where adding more to would be bad. I still Like feedback ofcourse. Maybe You could use some of the simplify in feedback dsa.

Its because a counter part of ds named dsnightfixed got played alot and players got used to it, playing other ds would need it to not be to different from the one they used to, ive had same problem with some players saying My ds is to different. What i Liked from watching the replays in dsa: is that unit stats is keept default and units Are spawned from two spots and not in chunks as Like in my ds. The stuff i didnt Like was the mineral ressource and bank system keep it more simple is the good way to go, also having the battlefield from side to side gives less fighting space than from corner to corner. And last the number two replay with Zerg VS toss Zerg seemed to be overpowered prices for units needs balance. None of replays lastest long Are games always played Like that cause than the gasses above 2 is never used.

In fact, it's much difficult to write Chinese characters (GB2312) into a map because the SCMD and SCR can't support it directly. We must do the character transcoding. But it's terrible that some Chinese characters still can't be support with SCMD even though after character transcoding. However, it can be translated into Chinese broadly. I will help you later.

I mean the DSA 8.0 beta need permission to open by identifying the player's ID, if you want to play it with other players to try, the map should write your id into itself to identify your ID. Othertherwise, the ID without permission from dsa's map can't play it.

I will watch your replays.And I will recommend your map to the Chinese.

By the way extended mode is not supported if its eud map. Thats one reason why i dont go euds. Second i havent learned euds. Especialy for ds maps extended mode really good.

Arh so if i wanna play the eud version it needs My id written into it? Abit weird if thats the case.

I think the most important Thing in a good ds is the unit balance All units should have its purpose. If a unit is weak VS anything its not good.

Yes, so dsa has 7.0s (without eud) and 8.0s (with eud).I don't know why, I think the extended mode and replay's function are necessary.

- DSA 8.0 can't support extended mode and saving replay. But it supports extended bullet (unlimeter in eud).

- It is just name in China, Chinese often call the UMS map rpg. It's just a habit. Strictly speaking, we know they're different.

- I have upload new and normal fighting replays of dsa 7.3.0. And then dsa 8.0 beta 6.99z104 will support your and your friends's ID to play.

- And now I am watching your replay.I find maybe there is something wrong with the Unit Spawning System in your ds.

Just watched couple more of the replays. I must say it looks real Nice. All players spawn at same time cool in a way but also real bad if You re the same race, so i dont know if i liked that. The time between spawns seemed abit to short. And the balance seemed not perfect for My taste for example i saw Zerg VS toss at start zea owned All Zerg units lings n few hyds, but Zerg player added more ling and hyd but the protoss only zealot not archon goon, it was the second replay in the archive. Archons do good VS ling with zea and goon stack behind. The Zerg play style seemed ok lings hyds guards good VS toss. But the toss only had very few goon and Even less archon toss nearly only had zealots not good if toss is strong that way, toss should have a mix of zea goon archon temp and air later on, the toss player lost the battle but hes zealot mass was actually doin ok for the most of game. Maybe it was just a bad player Else the balance on goon archon price could be cheaper and maybe zealot Cost more so they not that strong start and weak end. In my ds i would go archon VS mass lings and it Will own if hyd mass without much ling i would do goons. But I understand why You Like it alot Nice battle intensity fast game play lots of strategy. I dont Like the bank stuff it did not seem to be Any good neither but needs to understand the bank system to judge it and I dont understand the bank system so cant say if its Any good. Real Nice battles You can get i imagine alot Like My ds same intensity in the battle i Like that. In my ds its long battles with huge spawn mass this ends alot faster Nice in some way if You dont Like longer battles. Great ds Ill have to try it out to learn it more.

In the first replay i saw 2xterran VS zerg+toss. The 2 Terrans goin vultures and marines VS hydras and zealots. In that replay i think Terrans should have firebats marines to counter zealot hydras. The Terrans spawn was loosing as they should cause vultures is not good VS zealot or hydras but why did they not do firebats Are they overpriced?
