Hello all, friends. I have a question.
How could change protoss shields without upgrade? I mean exactly congenital shields?
I heard that in SC1 this is hard to change, but SC2 this is less hard.
Anybody know how it can change?

Voyager7456, well I saw approximately 150+ campaigns for SC1 and don't saw there that any protoss had default shield more 0. I'm not about any upgrade in forge.
Maybe you know campaign where this is have?

I think he might be asking if you can change base shield armor without upgrades, but I'm not sure

Nekron, exactly. Even Duran in form hybrid has base shield 0 (Ascension of Duran), for example.
Are shields so hard to change?

This is not possible without writing a plugin to modify the damage formula. There's no such thing as "base shield armor", when reducing damage to shields SC just uses the shield upgrade level.

Voyager7456, why is not has "base shield armor"? I thought that can change all parameters no matter what.

You can change all parameters that exist. But "base shield armor" does not exist. There is no entry in units.dat for it.

In the future, it will be able to get around that in GPTP, because in addition to changes you can already do, to increase/decrease damage taken by shielded units, to reflect "stronger shields", you will be able to modify the infos actually displayed as text in the console at bottom of screen, so that users 100% see more powerful (and even possibly differently named) shields.
Well that's if I find how to host it once I finish the ongoing version :P

UnheadStar, I'm right understand that you want show all information about damage\armor in game?

No. Even if it were possible, you'd still need a plugin to change the damage logic to take it into account.
