Well if you just try to compile it right now without making any changes the compiler will just wipe all the triggers. I believe this is because the force names are in Korean. That would be my guess.

There's an issue with the 4.19.20 version of Scmdraft where unit properties from Create Unit with Properties frequently gets strangely garbled, here's an example:



I think the properties I actually chose were invincible and 2 hangar count. Not sure if this was fixed in the most recent update, I just downloaded the new one.

Huh, while we're at it...
Still getting black tiles in the map view when/after using W/Ctrl+W to scroll map view up. Only happens in Terrain mode. ASD all work fine. The black things are a purely cosmetic effect, nothing bad done to the actual map, but it looks creepy. :)

For what it's worth... setting custom locale is still impossible??? I tried pressing Apply before confirming, but that doesn't help either: the checkbox gets unset the next time I open the profile settings.

I have the latest version, I double-checked that.

This is with the most recent version. I tried deleting folder and re-downloading, still having the problem. I tried both the default profile and my personal profile. No luck with either. Can't run it at all now :(


Edit: Restarted SC, downloaded the update, played a game and now everything seems to be working fine again. False alarm, sorry :P

My computer's HDD died and the storage had to be replaced, so now I'm back to square one with regards to the system (the data is thankfully safe on external volumes and in the clouds). SCMDraft doesn't work as it can't find MSVCP100.DLL and MSVCR100.DLL, so which VC runtime pack do I need to install? The few that I've tried so far (it was a cursory search, I haven't got to this in the earnest) don't resolve the issue.

(NVM, fixed. Maybe there should be a note somewhere that VC 2010 redist is required; maybe it's there but I haven't found it).

Two bugs in ScmDraft 2.0 (Beta 0.9.10)

1.) Scmdraft's failing to optimize trivial maps created by StormLib; to isolate this... inside Scmdraft I created a 64x64 badlands dirt map with no triggers, p1/p2 start locations, made p2 a computer in force 2... and saved in "C:\Map\scenario.chk" as "StarCraft Map (*.scm)", ran the following code to generate a map:



Then opened and tried to save to get...


scenario.chk and output.scm (prior to resaving) attached, note that output.scm will continuously grow in size as it is resaved in Scmdraft; output.scm is openable in StarCraft and I can edit it/compact it just fine in Staredit & Chkdraft.

2.) Scmdraft's generating extra data at the end of the string section, scenario.chk in this example had a "¬" (0xAC) after the last string's nul character, after resaving in Scmdraft again it had "¬V" (0xAC, 0x56)


Minor note: you add a COLR section to non-broodwar version saves, which has no effect.

Two problems with Sound Editor. (1) when I playback sounds I just added they are truncated, cut-off at the end and don't play fully. (2) it keeps warning me about .ogg files each and every time I upload a .ogg file. Is there a way to be like "don't remind me again"?

Sorry, was on vacation and then work got real busy. Plus brand new cheetah cubs!



1: Older versions had a bug that would occasionally miscalculate the length of ogg files if they had a certain format. I thought that had been fixed for a bit.

2: I needa check what warning you mean, but probably can do that or just disable it for SC:R maps.

Your cool predictive system also has a small bug I've noticed so far.

With death counters, when you are doing a condition it can be using actions instead, and vice versa.

Eg. instead of auto-filling at least, at most, exactly, it auto-fills Set to, Add, Subtract (and vice versa).

It let me save this in classic trigedit without any error message. I only noticed it when I was using advanced trigger and tried to compile, then I got the error and it showed me the problem.

A feature suggestion: make actions / conditions in classic Trigger Editor multi-selectable? (with Ctrl+click or Shift+click)

Also make the copied conditions / actions appear after the current entry, not at the very bottom? (could be an option to toggle)

Fog of war bug?

To reproduce:

1. Go to Fog of War layer, select Player 1 and draw something (e.g word "Hello")
2. Select Player 2, draw something (e.g "World") that definitely overlays the first drawing
2.1 We have now two layers with two different fogs of war
3. Select Player 1 again, copy its fog of war (the whole map or partially - it does not matter)
4. Select Player 3, paste P1 fog of war in place
5. Select Player 2 and see its fog of war

Actual behavior:

Player 2 fog of war is screwed.

Expected behavior:

Player 2 fog of war remains the same as it is after the step 2

Software details:

Tested on the last installer version and also on alpha 2020.06.24(W)


Intended usage of copy/paste fog:

Since there are only two ways (are there?) to draw fog: for current player and for all players, to draw different fog of war for different scenario forces: draw fog for P1, then copy it to all other players in its Force 1, draw different fog for P2 then copy it to all other players in its Force 2. But this didn't work.

Are you sure? The opposite behavior is described in the docs:

And if I paste with CTRL being held - scmdradt replaces ALL fog of war(FOW) layers of all playable players (1-8), which seems a correct behavior.

And if I past FOW for current player (without CTRL) - scmdraft replaces current FOW layer and corrupts any other FOW layers (if there is any data on those layers that differs from data being pasted). It appears scmdraft not replaces FOW but redraws it with the similar rules as user can draw FOW - it swiches dark to light and light to dark.

My understanding is it only works on the Remaster modes (save as XXX Remastered).

arh ok thats why i had the problem using more strings. or im not fully sure cause i used the remaster hybrid file that didnt work. i made a topic about the save game files, to clarify this even more if you know what diffences save game files does please give some help in that topic. thanks in advance

creating a no fly zone isn't too hard. just order units that enter a location to somewhere else. the hard part is keeping the order they previously had. It's probably doable with some eud fu and heavy constraints and/or clunky result. Even then, it's going to a lot of work and no guaranteed result. So I'd stick to the no fly zone.
