>be faceless void >mfw I have no face

Joined SEN around 2007 although I lurked a little before then. Now in my last year of a computer science degree, having worked various jobs along the way to make it through without any debt.

Speaking not on SEN's past but on SEN's future, the only way this site will ever grow again is if a new game is added which is still in its infancy of mapping, and big enough to attract new users. The only game I know of this is DOTA2, which has custom map support but not yet many great maps. When the Source 2 editor and engine are released it will presumably attract a lot of growth in the custom maps department, and if anyone has the energy we should perhaps consider removing the SC2 section in favour of a DOTA2 section (or in addition to the SC2 and BW stuff).

I guess from the sounds of this topic no one will though.

she/her

that sounds like a great idea tbh. Or at least, we should do something to that effect.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

We had a game come out. It was called starcraft 2. It turned out to be massively more difficult to map with and in general SEN should just stay the way it is: a collection of friends who have little elsewhere to go and help impart a vast knowledge of a decade old game upon each other and newcomers.

Personally I'm getting too old to play games constantly and I haven't booted up starcraft for real in over 6 months (my bnet account is almost certainly toast). I have a feeling a lot of our older population has gradually faded out due to this phenomena, and it will continue on for a long while.

w0ts g00d in the h00d yall

I joined SEN around 2004, maybe 2005 as Deathawk. I have no idea what brought me here because I never made a map in my life, but somehow it happened. In retrospect, I imagine I must have been the most annoying 13 year old in the world, and for that, I would like to apologize.

Since then... I have been working in infrastructure IT in various capacities for the last six years. I've also been pursuing a Bachelor's in IT on the side, but I'm putting that off for now(3 classes left :-() as I am on my way to California to work with Apple come the beginning of April.

In my free time, I like to listen to 90's hip-hop, bake shitty bread, brew shitty cider, hydroponic garden, play ultimate Frisbee, make wheel-thrown ceramic work, get drunk, learn about art and design, make fun of Redditors and watch Mystery Science Theater 3000. I am really passionate about cyber security, wealth disparity, social equity, feminist/LBGTQ issues and other sociopolitical/ethical/economical issues. Outside of those, I don't take too much seriously.

Going forward... no idea! I bounce from idea to idea pretty frequently. I have thrown the idea of living in a van or working to Antarctica around quite a bit, though. I am a citizen of Ireland, too. So we'll see.

Cheers!

ETA: I fucking love MST3K. Please tell me you've heard of rifftrax?

HAHA. But no, unfortunately, my failures in those arenas are primarily because I have no patience. :teehee:

And I have! I haven't watched a single second of it, or Cinematic Titanic, though. I just don't want to be let down. Maybe one day...

The Twilight riffs are pretty good, and I think I saw Twilight on Netflix the other day so it should be pretty cheap entertainment.

So far, my husband and I are pretty impressed with what they have up.

Que Sera, Sera.

I think i joined SEN when i was 14? I did a bunch of dumb stuff with boxes and shit. I did make a couple RPG style maps, not the best ones but i was pretty proud of them. I doubt i could make any now it's been so long. I've been off and on SEN for a while now though.

After High school I started a band and worked in my dads office for a little bit. Now I'm playing bass in a different band and starting up a new band of my own.

I joined SEN in summer of 2005 at the ripe old age of 20. That was almost 10 years ago! Now I'm 30! What happened!?!? I fondly remember the good old days of activity here. I joined during an especially rough time in my life and the friends I made here certainly helped me stay sane. I was a global mod for about 3 years and I enjoyed doing that.

My son was 3 when I joined and now he's 13. I guess that means he's about old enough to join this place. o.o

As for what I'm doing now, I work in sales. My degree in media didn't end up giving me a lot of career options in the Midwestern USA, so I pursued one of the only lucrative careers one can without a technical or medical degree: BS'ing people out of their money! But overall, it's been enjoyable. I am doing okay and am paying my debts down faster than I would have with an average salaried job. And I still have a couple of pet movie projects on the back-burner at all times, so that whenever I have sufficient time/money, I can enjoy myself with those. :)

I've been around since 2009.

I have a B.S. in Computer Science and currently work as a Web Application Developer. I got my first job in college as a programmer thanks to the work I did modding Starcraft!

I check up on SE.net every once in a while but never post anything.
I do miss the old days when BW was popular.

Presently working minimum wage jobs, playing SC2 almost every night (exclusively playing Star Battle in the arcade), and getting drunk on weekends. You're all welcome to join me on webcam whenever I'm rocking out in my barn sippin back on 2 bottles of olde english!

Back* from the grave

Left SEN for ...a while now. Last post before I came back was on February 2013. In the meantime:

Bachelor's in Chemistry, and another in Mathematics. Graduated May last year (2014). Have a job as a chemist. Brand-new (2015) car. If it wasn't for that last tidbit I'd be applying for my Master's right about now. When I'm not spending time with my girlfriend, I'm usually playing Uncharted Waters Online or (lately, mostly) Pillars of Exile. Still do not gladly suffer fools, and it's only getting more obvious.

What else is there to know?

I have played Path of Exile off and on. Mostly off. But I meant Pillars of Exile.

...I don't even. I really, really meant Pillars of Eternity.

But I have a feeling you knew this.
