SUPER DUPER QUICK MAP-MAKING CONTEST
INFORMATION
  • Contest will begin in the USEast channel "donuts" once people show up.
  • No signups - show up in channel donuts and map for 1 hour with the rest of us.
  • Maps must be started afresh at that time unless a basis is provided.
  • Terrain and triggers cannot be copied from another map unless a basis is provided.
  • 1 hour maps will be attached in here at the end.
  • Bring your lawn chairs.

PARAMETERS
  • Time constraints: One hour
  • Map size: Any
  • Tileset: Any
  • Genre: Any
  • Theme: See below
  • Time: 1 (one) strict hour; those who exceed the time limit are shitlords
  • Starting Time: 7 PM EST or whenever people show up
  • Reward: Glory, women (or men if that's your thing), praise, personal satisfaction
  • Judging: Unofficial; we're just there to have fun
  • Skype Voice-chat: PM me for details


We will be making use of a map template this time around, which all entries must use as a basis; no modifications of base triggers are allowed, but modification of terrain is allowed.

EDIT: This contest will instead be taking place a week from now on May 31st, 2014 at 7 PM EST.

Here are the maps that were made yesterday. We had 4 participants.


Room Wars EXTREME!
Author: lil-Inferno

Capture command posts within the rooms. Command posts will spawn your allies and allow you to spawn there when you die. Holding two or less command posts results in your team receiving deaths over time. The first team to hit 200 total deaths loses.

Room Control
Author: Dem0n

Go from room to room planting down Nexuses with your Hydralisk. Each room strictly holds one Nexus. You can kill enemy Hydralisks and Nexuses. The person with the most Nexuses at the end of 10 minutes wins.

Pro Snipers: Room Edition
Author: Leeroy_Jenkins

Bald locks snipers, but in The Puzzling esque rooms. First person to 5 kills wins. You can just hide in the lower corner of any room and the interface will cover you, rendering you pseudo-invincible.

kind of, you gain points while you're the "mouse" and everyone else is a "cat" that wants to kill you to become the "mouse"

though the template was quite unkind to me, two ultras got stuck when trying to leave the room at the same time when we played, and the unit changes have unplaceable bugs at some places

jjf28 -- I think the reason I had it so wrong was cause I could treat it as a 0-based index from section start (offsets actually start after first two bytes of numStrings) so I had my access simplified like that :P
