Starcraft on Linux?

i was just wondering if anyone here has tackled that problem yet. Right now i have starcraft and brood war installed on linux mint 15 and it works fairly well for me but with a few issues. for one, the screen does this wierd thing where the last column of pixels on the right side is repeated until the end of the screen. isn't anything that ruins it for me but i just can't figure out why this happens. the resolution of the game was fine running it in ubuntu 12.04. not only that but the maximum vertical resolution for my screen is 600 which is the same as starcraft (800x600 right?)

other than that my only attempts at online play have only been when i was running ubuntu and they failed miserably. as it stands right now i think linux mint will be able to play online if i can only figure out how to set that up, and i would really like to fix that resolution issue.

None.

sc's resolution is 640x480. so the vertical resolution is 480 pixels.

Sie_Sayoka -- blind and parasite can be done through euds or you can just change the vision radius like ultraviolet said
[09:38 pm]
RdeRenato -- I will try, I imagine it will be difficult to blind a dark templar
[07:16 pm]
Ultraviolet -- Alternatively, you can just use EUDs to modify unit vision range on the fly, creating the potential for a blind effect. Vision range is one of those dynamic variables (not sure if this is actually the correct terminology) that doesn't require a unit to be recreated for it to take effect. It goes into effect immediately for all units of that type and can be changed as often as you like.

Ultraviolet -- I'm not sure about parasite, but for blind, I seem to remember if you place CPU medics on cliffs around, they will blind any enemy units who pass. Might have to be units of a certain value or type, not sure about that detail
[05:34 pm]
Dem0n -- without EUDs, you have to aggravate a Medic/Queen so that it blinds/parasites the unit
[05:34 pm]
Dem0n -- probably with EUDs
[05:30 pm]
RdeRenato -- Is there a way to start with a blinded unit or with a parasite (?)

MTiger156 -- opps, Production is for demos so that makes sense. How is Map Showcase a trap then?

MTiger156 -- Map Production is a trap how? :megathink:

NudeRaider shouted: NudeRaider business as usual in ums assistance, 1 whopping topic updated each in map production and showcase. It's a surge indeed for SENs standards, but not the one I'm looking for. ;)
cuz no one needs assistance (or gets it in the discord) and map production/showcase threads are traps lmao
