Hello SEN, it has been a long time since I was previously active on these forums and I have recently returned to making maps for StarCraft II. I am studying at
University of West London on a course called
Music Technology Specialist. One of my subjects is to design sound for films and games and I have found myself really enjoying this. Therefore, I wanted to try and help you guys out whilst exercising my creativity by offering to design sounds free of charge.
So, does anybody need some sounds designed?

Sounds cool. Maybe post a quick demo of some of the stuff you've been working on?
None.
I am currently working on my assignment titled
SFX which, requires me to create the sounds to accompany a storyboard that I design within a group of two to three. I have created a Storyboard using screenshots from Diablo III and I am currently working on the sounds to accompany this. I will take my time to complete this project, but perhaps afterwards I can post up the
comic I created. Until then, I would gladly take on some jobs for people here.

Hello Insoluble,
I have been working for quite some time on a map called The Star Strikers, which is predominantly a soccer-themed map set in space. I have also been, for quite some time, looking to replace the "whistle" sound currently in use that signals the end of the first half and the end of the game. The current whistle sound is very grating to the ears and rather bland, so I'd like to replace it with something that fits the futuristic and space setting of Starcraft while also being easily recognizable as the halftime sound.
Would you be interested in helping me out?
None.
So you would like me to create a sound that indicates the halfway point of a sports game (in particular football) but with a spacey, futuristic element?
I will put it on my list of things to do and will hopefully get back to you soon.

Alright, you can contact me at chirushighwind (at) gmail.com.
Thank you for the quick reply.

Has anyone else got some more requests?

I may have some, but I'm not sure what I want yet, or how to design it.. So I guess I'll just tell you the spell that needs the sound:
The spell is basically a different version of scanner sweep, but instead of the yellow swirly animation, it creates an eye on the area above the ground that opens when the spell begins and closes when the spell stops. The spell is based off of light, and it would be good if there was both an opening and a closing sound. That's the spell, not sure how you might make a sound for it
but anything you come up with should be fine.

I need a short sound to play when my Game Timer runs out.
Something simple, 2 seconds max.

I will start work right away, starting with Payne's two second sound whilst I try to figure out something for Luzz.
I made a sound for Chirus and messaged it to him but he does not seem to have responded whether he likes it or not.

Great, thank you!
I don't need it very soon, so take your time and make it sound epic xD
Also, what program are u using to edit/make the sounds? Is it free? Or do you know of a free one I can use?
None.
I use Pro Tools 10. Cost me £120 at a student price but I believe it is considerably more usually. All of the sounds I use are sounds I recorded myself and then I edit them using a combination of stretching, reversing, reverberation, delays, equalization and more. As for free software, there are some things on the market that I know of such as Audacity or lite versions of software but nothing truly compares to Pro Tools, Logic and some may argue Cubase.

He does not check SEN very often. Did you send it to his email?
Anyways, I'll let him know via Skype.

Chirus has responded and I have edited the things he asked me to do so, and same with you Payne.
Luzz, I am going home for christmas and so I will not be making sounds again until the new year which I do apologize for. For those of you wondering here are the two sounds at the moment and I am hoping both will enjoy what I have made for them.

Luzz is out of PM Space so I figured I will post the sounds here.
This took a very short amount of time and was just a rough idea, so if you want something a bit more considered then it will need to be after I come back from my Christmas Vacation.

Christmas Break is over so I can start working on some sounds again. If the people that I have already created sounds for would please let me know what they think of their sounds and what they would like changing, that would be great. For anyone that has yet to use my service, I would appreciate any work possible so I can practise and improve upon my designed sounds. Thank you.

The sounds you made me are pretty good, but I have changed what my spell does. Do you have starcraft 2? If so then a looping sound that is based off of the scanner sweep sound but make it more warped/deeper so it sounds like a pulse goes off every second. If you don't have sc2 then tell me and I can send the scanner sweep sound to you.
Also, try to make the sounds really loud (Or louder), because I can decrease the volume of sounds, but I can't increase it. Please and thank you

I do have StarCraft II but I would greatly appreciate if you emptied your PM box and sent me the sound
!
Sounds cool, I will try to boost the sounds to be a lot louder for people in future now that I know you cannot increase the volume

Done I think
I'll try to send you the sound soon, but I won't have much time over the next few days.

I compiled all the sounds in to a zipped folder and uploaded to the database.
I also spent some time to create muddy footsteps for people to use and also uploaded to the database.
The muddy footsteps are indeed me, outside in the rain and mud squelching. Because of this, it is a little bit windy and even though I tried to reduce that and successfully got rid of large amounts of rumble, the wind is still present through-out the frequency spectrum and I don't want to lose any of the actual sound.
