I wanna know what you guys think about my last engineering project. We had to design a rube goldberg contraption with at least 10 parts that had no fire, nothing dangerous (I swear it's safe :awesome:), no mess ( :awesome: ), and could easily be reset.

This is the video we've been using for presentations and such. Tell me what y'all think

I don't have a mohawk. I seriously don't understand what is up with me and pictures/videos. It just looks like I do.

Any questions :D

Oh, and, the face is our teacher's assistant. He's the butt end of a lot of jokes (mostly from our professor). She literally started jumping up and down screaming when we told her what we were doing. Literally.

First run through is very difficult to see what's going on. Also the youtube video stuck at 30s for me on the default resolution, so had to go up a notch before it played all the way through.

Apparently you used some copyrighted music because the GEMA made youtube disallow Germans to view it.

Is there a version without music? Using copyrighted music for a presentation is probably a bad idea anyways.

Yeah, why is that? I have two videos with copyrighted music, and they're only blocked in Germany. Every other country just shows the video with ads, where the money goes to the recording artist. What's the difference with Germany?

He said it right here. Germans just have some stricter rules when it comes to YouTube.

Just Here For The Pie

This one comes with a powerful message at the end of it. Nice.
Did you get any inspiration from Pee Wee's Breakfast Machine?

Also, this is my personal favorite Rube Goldberg Machine.

No, he said "GEMA made youtube disallow Germans to view it" and my question was "Why?", so that wouldn't answer the question.

As I said in my previous post, the money goes to the recording artist, so just "having stricter rules" doesn't really make sense.

Anyways, he PMed me the answer already, which made sense and was informative. I won't post it since he didn't, although he can if he wants to. I'm pretty sure the reason he didn't post it is because it's off-topic.

Still Napping

GEMA is stricter in Germany, their anti-piracy legislature is even worse than here in America.

Dec 4 2012, 5:10 pm Azrael Post #11

It's not piracy when the recording artist gives their permission and then gets paid for its use. It has nothing to do with piracy and everything to do with financial dealings. The entire move against YouTube was a negotiation tactic by GEMA to get more money.

I like how I just said this wasn't answered here because it's off-topic, and your first thought was to respond with a possible answer.

Notice I said anti-piracy legislature. I never said anything about the song actually being pirated, and yes, it was a tactic to get more money. Made possible through anti-piracy legislature.

The bass. :wob:

It also made my presentation a lot more stand-out when I was blasting it every few minutes to show the video at the fair, while everyone elses was silent or very quiet.

It's not a crossbow, it'd be cooler if it was :P I guess it's safe as long as you don't stand right in front of it.
