A few things. Anyone is allowed to participate as long as you can play an instrument. Guitars, clarinet, keyboard and drums are all okay. Mac book is not an instrument.
First thing to be decided is who is playing, post in thread to signup, include your instrument.
Second thing to be decided is what you guys want to play in the piece. Do you want to solo? Do you want to do chords? Outline the melody? Our song selection/composition will be based around this.
Last thing to decide is what we will be playing. Most jazz has any of the following: introduction (gives a feel), verse (main melody), bridge (transition, sometimes leads into solo), solo section. The standard format is Melody->Solo->Melody* repeat. We could compose our own music (probably not a good idea, seeing as we don't even know how well we work together) or go off of a standard or other jazz music. I have a PDF of The Real Book (a book with hundreds of common jazz tunes' sheet music) so teaching won't be an issue. If need be I could also write out guitar tabs or audio recordings for those who are too lazy to read music or prefer to learn by ear, respectively.
*the second melody section frequently has a turn-around that leads back into the beginning
Jazz is about flexibility. There aren't any instrumental restrictions. A jazz band doesn't have to have an upright bass and a piano. A friend of mine recorded some jazz with a saxophone and a ukelele, for example. Jazz is about what you're playing, not what (instrument) you're playing.
I should probably mention that I play both electric and classical guitar, but my electric guitar is professional quality while my classical is beginner quality (not to say I don't know how to work the tone).

The Lineup
1. [Name] is going to be playing an introduction of his/her own writing. Preferably shorter than a minute, longer than 10 seconds. If you want some help with it, feel free to ask. I can give some pointers, examples, ideas, etc.
2. After [Name] finishes and lands on the first (A minor seven if you're using the C sheet) chord, demon is going to come in and play the melody for the first run-through. I will be playing the chords throughout the entire song.
3. Sacrieur's solo ends, and now Farty will take his solo. And then I take my solo after that. Each solo lasts one entire run-through of the chords, if unclear.
4. After the last solo we will play the melody through again. This one is up for grabs. Demon has first call if he wants it as I gave him a smaller role (but he already had the first melody). If anyone wants to do the melody, say so. The song ends.
5. Kame sits in the corner and watches us make music.

Eb Sheet Music
Bb Sheet Music
For the sheet music I should mention that the 7 (dominant seven) or 7b9 (dominant seven flat nine) chord would more often be played as 7b13 (dominant seven flat thirteen) to accentuate the harmonic minor note leading back into the next chord. Both are fine though. You can even do 7b9b13 (dominant seven flat nine flat thirteen) if you so choose.
