Do you shop daily or weekly for groceries?
We shop daily, mostly because we have no storage...not every day; if we have leftovers there is no reason to do shopping.
Weekly Costco run. Spend like $100-200 per trip. We get 6-8 gallons of milk each week.
your family drinks over a gallon of milk a day?
How big is your family?
Five people (six when my sister comes home). We probably go through a gallon in every 1½ days or so.
I don't know.
Usually I eat whatever we have in the pantry. Past few days it's been nothing but frozen bread, lately we've had food, but before that oatmeal, lots of oatmeal.
None.
Generally weekly although occasionally I'll do extra mid-week shops, or if there's something specific I want to make but don't have the right ingredient for it. Probably only do mid-week shopping like that once every 6-8 weeks, and for the last few months possibly only once.
If there's any sort of natural disaster or problem with food supply we'd be set for about a week or two (assuming the freezer didn't stop working...) I generally only buy stuff when it's on special and then stock up (nothing crazy, unless it's a really good special). So I'd say almost always at least 60% of everything I buy is on special, and usually it'll be 80%+, sometimes 100%.
None.

Tuesday drinks and food, saturday food, every day lunch ingredients.
I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
When I'm running out of food and don't want to eat in any sort of restaurant.
That's slightly more than once a week. I guess I go shopping every 5-6 days.
Fairly erratically.
My job happens to be two blocks away from a place that specializes in produce, two blocks away from a fairly generic grocery store (Smith's; I don't know how big it is outside of Utah), and one block away from a Whole Foods Market. So it's pretty much "whenever we need something". Probably the biggest dictator of our shopping schedule is our water bottles (one each of 4 and 5 gallons).
None.
Whenever I don't feel like eating the food I have ... So like once a week or more frequently. My friends go a lot, so I usually go with them but don't always get anything. ... Also this reminded me that I was going to stop by Smith's on my way home since I pass right by it ...
Smith's outside of here is called Kroger. Dunno if it's called Smith's anywhere else.

If it's called Kroger elsewhere than it is called King Sooper's here.

I didn't know about a bunch of those being Kroger.

Huh. I always had wondered what the deal was with there being Smith's brand products and Kroger brand products when so far as I could tell Kroger was pretty much a Smith's thing anyways.
... Okay so that doesn't tell me why they do that at all, but oh well.
None.
My family isnt particularly organized, we go shopping the day after we realize theres no food, which typically means shopping every 3 days

Kroger keeps the Kroger brand products as their generic brand.
So it goes
Name Brand* -> Private Selection -> Kroger -> Great Value.
You'll notice that labeling gets simpler as the product gets cheaper...so they probably don't want to go through the trouble of labeling everything differently for every store.
*Name Brands are usually better, but sometimes just more expensive.
I live next to a small grocery store, which is the best possible place to live. I only buy groceries immediately before cooking/eating them.

I can think of a lot better places to live.
None.
Isn't "Great Value" walmart's store brand name?

I'll have to double check next time I go to King Soopers...but I think they use the same branding. Might be they carry the exact same things. Maybe it's just Kroger Value?
I buy my groceries for 2 weeks (there's 2 weeks in between pay days). I usually spend around 80-100 bucks a trip. I also buy in bulk.
I know how to cook, it's extremely helpful in saving money. The key is to learn how to cook cheap food that is good for you, flavorful, and easy to make. Mexican or Hispanic food is a prime example.
Why would I go out when I can make teriyaki chicken and rice or steak tamales myself?
