So I'm looking into buying/obtaining/getting some internet. Currently I've been using my phones internet over mobile hotspot which is pretty darn good except for the extremely small limit of 12GB per month. I can't watch any of my shows or download games because I'd waste my entire bandwidth for the month. I mean I'm getting like 14mb/s with latency as low as 30 and average max of 100 with my phones internet so that's really nice but the bandwidth isn't cutting it. For the same price I'm paying monthly for phone on my internet I could probably get a decent home connection, I figure.

I'm paying 20 dollars just to be able to use my phone as a router and like 30-40 to extend my monthly bandwidth to 12GBs. So with around 50~ dollars I could probably get a decent home connection amirite? I think it would be cheaper for me to get with Verizon since I have a verizon phone and I imagine they would have a bundle deal thing. Anyways here is what I'm looking for.

-NewJersey area (08861)
-Average speeds of 2~mb/s
-Unlimited or high bandwidth limit (I think the lowest start at 250gb/month?)

Not really sure on price. I mean I'd at least have around 50 dollars a month to play around with. I could go over I suppose but I'm really not interested in something like paying 120/month for 30mb/s business class speeds.

Can you guys let me know what I'm looking at for 50 dollars a month and share with me what you guys are currently paying for internet, the brand, and the speed. halp me out.

Not paying anything, Time Warner Cable, and up to just over 2 MB/s for a Cincinnati area connection.

Still waiting on that next turn, Azrael.

2 internet connections:
30 Mbit down/up Northstate Communications. $30/month
7 Mbit down/368k up Time Warner Cable. Not paying anything. They never shut it off when I cancelled it and it was an absolute bitch to try and get them to really cancel it so I gave up trying not to steal from them.

This is a great wallpaper to use if you want to go into an epileptic fit every time you sit down in front of your laptop, which I guess is a better option than watching Naruto.

You probably shouldn't use it for anything, then. When (if?) they eventually work out that you've had the connection all this time, they'll probably try and charge you for it. If there's been any serious use of the connection, they'd probably win the case should they take you to court over it.

I'm not using it. What TWC wants to do is remove the "manual connection" problem so that you are always connected and they don't have to send out people to fix it. Instead they switch you over to digital cable and give you a modem. When you give those back, theoretically you can't use their services then. However since I have an old TV, and a personal router, I don't have that problem.

It all really depends on the area you live in... You'd just have to purchase a month of each major company in your area and do a internet test but that's all i got since I've traveled and know what its like to find a internet provider.

Edit : sorry new jersey area i have no clue but try bell, Verizon, road runner...

Truth hurts. Maybe not as much as jumping on a bicycle with a seat missing, but it hurts.
