Power of sound.

I was bored and decided to find out why sound affects living beings... such as why plants are affected by music, people who hear a certain note (brown note) have a sudden urge to poop, why many people believe fetal growth are affected by music, and even why some people sell music that supposedly gets you high (Called idosers / Idose). There is not much research in this area but music can convey emotion so heavily... it was found that certain stimuli of music can affect organisms such as viruses, plants, and even humans. No one knows why this is... I've provided links on the subject and information the best i can. And for all those who think this is a placebo effect; it does explain some of it but it doesn't explain the same effect on plants and the reverse on viruses that feed on plants.

Such sounds can be found by searching into youtube

"528 Hz Solfeggio and Fibonacci"
"936Hz Pineal Gland Activator"
"1122 Hz Solfeggio Master Frequency"
"396Hz Liberation from Fear"
"Idose gate of hades"
"Idose hand of god"

To increase the effect of some sounds you may or may not have to wear headphones (usually wear headphones unless video description says otherwise) and make sure your in a quiet and dark place also lying down in a comfortable position helps.

Some of these sounds may not completly work but they show a track record of about 3/10 people can get effect from all sounds, and 4/10 works on some sounds... the rest is a meh area. But imo im split on the subject half of me being on the side of this new age crap doesn't work and the other half is it does work but for me I can get high off some sounds and others don't work for me so meh. This is meant to be an aid not a full blown cure or replacement to anything... although there are testimonials of people who claim to use idoses to get off hard drugs.

An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

Ah yes, and sugar pills have been able to treat a wide variety of illnesses. It's called the placebo effect.

Jan 18 2012, 12:51 am Tempz Post #3

Then how do you explain the effects on plants?

None.

That's a straw man, unless you're saying plants get high, and the reasoning is for something we share in common with plants. Or are you saying that if we listen to music, we'll grow taller?

Also, there are mixed result on how plants react to music. I've seen experiments where rock music works best/worst, where classical music works best/worst, and where silence works best/worst.

In conclusion, I'm not sure what you're asking me to explain, or how it connects to psychologically affecting the human brain.

Do you have any links or quotes to back your statement?

None.

The study on plants wasn't able to be repeated with the same results, so it was assumed to be untrue.

Last I heard anyway...

The brown note is a theoretical infrasonic frequency that would cause humans to lose control of their bowels due to resonance. There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that a "brown note" exists, using sound waves transmitted through air.
First line of the brown note article lol.

Hmm...

I guess personal experience of 2 trumps 1... but i went into listening to the idose a skeptic and found it somewhat worked so i guess this topic is heavily based on personal experience which tbh is not that reliable.

I-doser totally works. There was a topic on it not too long ago. Actually I'll probably do some more i-doser tonight.

Well i tested out the brown note as well and i found it was one of those things that was a placebo note but hey if idoses work what other effects does sound affect the human body? (yes mind the errors)

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_the_effects_of_music_on_plants - basically contradicting experiments.

Also, "placebo" != "doesn't work." You can even know it's fake and have the effects work.

Yes but only kinda.

This is more general, the other one was specifically about... err.. binaural beats? w/e they are called.

@roy
I read the article you provided and my explanation is that different plants were used... different plants respond to different stimuli and the only contradiction was the one of mythbusters. And answer #3 doesn't really disprove anything it just states that plants shouldn't respond to stimuli but they do so this answer is itself a contradiction.

@Devlin
Tikels explained it perfectly... the other one was about getting high this one is more generalized.

Still Napping

We did discuss i-dosing. The claim that binaural beats can cause you to get high is about as absurd as claiming water can cure cancer.

The people that claim they can feel it are either completely deluded or lying.

No, this is not a matter of opinion. This isn't the same as what my favorite color is or what dresses I like to wear on my days off. This is about empirical scientific evidence and fact.

The burden of proof is on you, Tempz.

Produce studies that show that idoses aren't just magical invented crap.

You are the one making the claim: idoses are things that do x y z. Prove it.

Shifting the Burden of Proof

This error consists of making an assertion and then demanding that the opposition prove it false. This is an unreasonable demand. The person making the assertion has the burden of supporting it. Though the opposing side may accept the challenge of disproving it, it has no obligation to do so.
