Yeah but why are they more appealing, how did this happen in the first place. They aren't more appealing 'just coz', western society has conditioned us that way. Look at all those third-world countries with the women running around topless, there is no sexual appeal focused around the women's breasts in those cultures.

That's not true. Males are biologically attracted to female breasts because they're indicative of good genes and ability to nurture children (like wide hips). It is not just because we're "told" to find breasts sexually arousing though that probably helps.

Yes, this is known as desensitization. So you are still asking the question why has one culture covered it all up and another has not. This is a societal influence not a biological one, or so it would seem.

Male nipples are also technically erogenous zones as well, and were also censored once upon a time. Different cultures have different concepts of what an erogenous zone is, additionally.

Some say it's because female breasts "dangle", but that doesn't explain the nipple-only censorship (or the fact that bouncing breasts are also commonly seen in the media).

I would've thought this answer was obvious to any american though? Female nipples are part of female breasts, which are an object of sexual gratification, much like the vagina, to men, popularized to a much larger degree than the rest of the female body. Male nipples are not nearly so popularized or, at least in their perception to current media censorship, as attractive to women as womens nipples are to men. Or maybe the censors just don't care about what women are attracted to.

Because the breast and shape of the breast is clearly visible, even when clothed. Even if you can't see the skin, it is just skin. The nipple is the only part that is actually definite.

Men don't (usually) have the breast part, so male nipples are useless and unimportant? That's the best I can come up with for that one.

With that in mind, considering everyone finds other small different and versatile thing attractive as well from hair to feet, maybe we should just censor all people altogether.
