As I said, regular HD recording. 1 minute will turn into around 4gb. It's very easy to run out of space. If you only plan to stick to 1 game at a time and process them 1 at a time, it won't be a problem. Otherwise, you'll want to be stacking terabytes.

Storing the encoded videos is trivial.

I actually plan to not store my raw videos. If for some reason I need, to I would still like a SSD. I could use the SSD to save my time, and then setup transfers of files overnight to an external if need be. Basically the SSD would save me time and help my daylight be time-efficient.

Also I fiddled with the encoding and upped the quality of my newest vidoes!

Well, I don't mean store, I mean just recording. If for example you decide to record several games back to back that results in a massive amount of space you have cluttered that needs encoding before you can record again.

The capacity is nowhere near enough for regular HD recording if you plan to go that route.
It is if he doesn't plan on permanently storing them, that's what the internet is for.
~£2000 for a 1 terabyte internal SSD drive.
~£1500 for a 512gb internal SSD drive.

Essentially only becomes affordable at around <64GB - which, in my limited understanding is maybe not enough for recording high definition screen-capture videos of sufficient length.

Edit: Ninjarred.

Gone.

128 is good enough for me! http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100008120%204018&IsNodeId=1&name=%24200%20-%20%24300

In terms of hardware upgrades, if I were you, I'd rather spend money on a decent graphics card to run the game on ultra settings. Instead of recording the game on 'low'.

I didn't say I'd have a budget and not be able to get both. Assumptions assumptions.

Average sc2 game of 11 minutes turns into 33gb of fraps files for me. So if I record three 11 minute games I am looking at nearly 100gb of unencoded files that clutter the drive until dealt with. That is why I have 6tb of recordable hard drive space.

Truth hurts. Maybe not as much as jumping on a bicycle with a seat missing, but it hurts.

Mmk only problem with fraps is that it lags it out atleast on my crappy computer =p

There really isn't any easy way to record on a low-end computer. Recording is very demanding. You can try recording at half size.

I actually use a very cheap mic, and will be using these next week when I get them: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1600&bih=1109&q=tritton+headset+ax+720&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=17183248012757365759&sa=X&ei=iuk6TqqeHobW0QHxsNDvAw&ved=0CEIQ8wIwAQ

I gotta agree cecil does have an interesting and nice voice, he just needs a better mic because it just makes it sound nasal.

Keep it up Cecil. A friend of mine just started playing, and as protoss right off the bat. So I introduced him to your videos. He has found them useful and is anticipating your next videos :)
I'm a zerg player, but I still find your videos useful so I know what kind of strategies toss use, instead of trying to learn how to play a new race and figuring what kind of builds toss needs.
