Since SEN's static Maplantis broke, I'll host it myself here: http://maplantis.mikelat.com

All the wiki, forum posts, and so on are on there.

You can download maps and mods, but only the older ones. I unfortunately didn't have a backup for all of the maps and mods. Sorry.

This thread is now for reminiscing about the ol' maplantis days.

I really really liked the maps db. Expecially those big map pages with comments and everything. Also the autoparsing of map stats and stuff kicked ass.

Devlin, is there a copy of the maplantis map and mod db on the sen server somewhere? If so you should send it to yoshi so he can host the more recent stuff too.

He is correct. I have the Maplantis mod DB.

Is there a chance you could parse the static copy so the links to files aren't broken?

What you need to do is replace the "www.maplantis.org" with "maplantis.mikelat.com".
Example: http://www.maplantis.org/storage/files/proedit.zip --> http://maplantis.mikelat.com/storage/files/proedit.zip

That was me I think, and I didn't have as much of a complete version of the mods DB as I have put up now.

Done, just for the files page. There's some broken links other places in the wiki but I'm deeming them not as important.



BTW, Now that I look at it, every mod and map is there despite some of them missing their images. Which is really good news.

I'm not really into the SC2 editor these days and I don't have a lot of time on my hands. Besides, any site I make can't really provide anything that the current community doesn't already provide. Staredit.net was made because no UMS starcraft 1 sites existed, and Maplantis was made because I had a couple of fresh site ideas and SEN at the time was fairly hostile against open mapping, my objective was to ultimately change that additude and I did so successfully. The only reason I stopped is because of how much time I was spending on it and I wasn't getting much support from the other founders.

if you remade maplantis, it'd have the exact same community that we have right now -_-

On the other hand we'd have a working site, database, and wiki. You'd be surprised how much SEN's lack of features and wealth of buggy ones hurts it.

Remake maplantis to host forum games.

Maplantis is the only community left, there isn't really an SEN anymore.
