I've always wanted to see a game that was an RTS, but you would also have special hero players who would play the game like an FPS or an action RPG or something.

Also, a modern Company of Heroes would be awesome.

Reminds me of Kessen II, where you could take over a character and fight in third-person.

wth is starcraft

OMG I'VE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS A LOT.

I'd combine Pokemon and pretty much any MMO. Because I think it'd be really freakin awesome to have an MMO game that takes you to the different regions where you catch whatever is over there. And the radio tower or similar quests (with TR or what have you) would be dungeons. I figure the gym battles will be kinda like dailies, or some repeatable quest for rep. And the classes you'd choose would be like fire, ghost, water, etc types...but probably just the classics, because there'd be a toonnnnn of them otherwise, and then like...steel would go with rock. You get the idea. And the talent trees could be things like trainer (deeps), breeder (heals), and idk something tank-esque. So you can train any type of pokemon, but you'll be strongest as your class type, and then you choose one of the trees to accent that. So like if you're a fire trainer, then your best dps will come from a fire type active, and if you're a water breeder your best buffs will come by having a water type active. Or maybe breeder for tank and coordinator (derp) for heals.

The only real difference would be that there is no "sides" like horde vs alli...well I guess it could be, like, hero vs rival. lol. There also wouldn't be as much farming, I don't think as in other MMOs, because what is there to farm? Other than making healing sprays and maybe the occasional trinket there isn't much you can to.

And legendary pokemon fights happen as world events...and if you attend it you get to put it into your log as 'captured' :hurr:

IT'D BE FUCKING SWEET.

Anyways I never really gave my answer:

I think that Vindictus was heading in the right direction for an MMO, but it needs to be taken to a different level.

I have always thought that dotHACK would be a great MMO. You personalize your avatar, then go to a "World Gate" and input a destination by using three keywords. These keywords would determine the length, difficulty and spoils you get from the area by basically adding/subtracting values that determine the area. From there, you enter this 'randomly' generated world and fight with your friends gathering drops and at the end, find a chest with a special item that is given to each member of the party. Some would just sell it off and others might use it.

Now combine that with a Level-less idea, that you never really grow just straight up, but side to side. So you can increase your health at the cost of your speed. Or increase your damage at the cost of how fast you attack. These would be determined by weapons, armor, items, etc. To give a reason why you would even dungeon, you earn new items that can fit your style better because they have different stat allocations and for money, that you can spend to change the item's original stats until it 'maxes' out or to simply customize their coloring or apperance. How attacks and such are working these days in MMOs, you simply run up to a target and attack with whatever rate you attack with or macro up abilities. Bring in the style Vindictus, dotHACK or fighting games like Tekken, which is using combinations of 2-4 types of attacks to do combos. You can then change your combo just like your weapons by putting in money to this as well: Not increasing it's abilities in a upward fashion, but again, side to side.

All this game would really serve with systems like that is you and your friends could enjoy the game regardless of your levels. While people would most likely call new players "vanillas" or something like that, it gives you time to play at a basic level and think, "I wish I did more damage per hit, even if it was slower" or "man, i wish i attacked faster" or "i wish that i could tank for my allies while they do damage" or "i would rather be supporting from a distance" or "man i wish i could heal you, i like that aspect"... Then just go in that direction without ever having to worry about putting time into their current character.

Battlestar Galactica Online + Starfleet Command 2
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind + The Witcher 2 (especially combat system + erotic)
GTA San Andreas (or higher) + Need for Speed 3 (the original Hot Pursuit) or NfS Underground
Interstate '76 + Knights of the Old Republic (1 or 2)
Genre mixes ftw

and a bonus:

Duke Nukem 3D + Duke Nukem Forever
