I am trying to figure out how to set computer weapons and armor upgrades for an rpg im making. I've seen other maps where a computer player would start out with high upgrade values, and i know it has nothing to do with ai scripts since the values would only be able to go up to 3. Anybody know how to do this?
None.
7 computers with the same color and different upgrades.
Research (coaking, energy, ventral sacs) on the other hand is transferred when you give it to a different player.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
Actually rockz I think he's just saying "start out with high upgrade values", not "upgrade to high values over time". He probably doesn't know about the upgrade/tech tabs in scmdraft 2 to begin with.
None.
that seems more likely, but now we have it both answered.

He said the upgrades would only go up to 3, that kinda means he's using Staredit and not Scmdraft 2 or any other third party editor.
Download Scmdraft 2:

None.
I was actually using x-tra editor and starforge, but yeah, thanks.
Edit: Is there a way to change these values during the game?

It is possible with EUD Action Enabler, but I doubt you want to take that path.
Its a 4 player rpg, which means i only get 3 hostile and one friendly comp (and neutral).

Then EUDs won't work without the EUD enabler.
I'm fairly certain you can't make the computer upgrade past 3 ups.

You can control the HP of enemy units quite easily. Why not adjust this value instead of armor?
None.
Because I want the weapons value to change as well. I guess i can manage with just the 3 comps, ah well.
None.
You can't even get CPU's to reliably upgrade in-game, unless you run a campaign or custom script and give them resources, workers, production buildings etc.

You could lower the HP of the heroes. It makes sense really, and the game would function exactly as it would with upgrades (well, sort of).

I'll expand on this. The system works by having a number of set variables:
P1 - P4 HP
Enemy HP
Variables can be set to increments up to 1% in value (due to the limitation of the set HP action). By decreasing the HP of the enemy, you are effectively making enemies easier to kill as if the players were stronger. Alternatively, by decreasing the HP of the players, it gives the illusion that the enemies have become stronger. This can be expanded to armor and vitality (or other attributes) that can effect this variable. Ultimately, the variable is determined by the following factors:
Px HP = Base + Attribute - Enemy Strength + Items
Enemy HP = Base + Attribute - Player Strength
It may seem awkward at first, but this even allows for using weapon and armor upgrades for other purposes. Armor can instead be called damage reduction (which is its true function anyway) and weapon upgrades may represent a permanent increase in damage abilities (i.e., strength).
