I understand what you're saying, but they insulted bronies in general (Well, we females are called ponies, guys are bronies), they could have chosen better words, but it sounds like they're saying guys liking the show is a crime.

Is this an attempt at trolling? Though they may look down on men who stay at home watching MLP, what they're saying is that men (or women, though the story was about men specifically) who claim disability insurance (as in the government pays them so they don't have to work) so they can stay at home and discuss MLP should be a crime.

They definitely could have said what they did in a better way. Seems like they didn't care if we were offended, which some were.

They should get mad at people for exploiting the system, but not because they watch MLP. If they watched anything else besides MLP, it'd be just as bad.

They are getting mad at people for exploiting the system. I see the MLP thing as an example they're using because the people doing it seem to be proud to be obsessed with MLP and not working.

Their word choice was implying that grown men watching a cartoon was "disturbing" though, even though MLP is not specifically catered to little girls. The only girly thing about MLP is ponies and bright colours basically. But there is nothing wrong with guys liking ponies or bright colours. So in retort:

To be fair though, I'm certain that the reason adults/young adults find Ponies so amusing is because the creators did put intelligent jokes, parodies and comments in there. However, it is more than likely that they put it in so that the parents of the little girls would enjoy the show as much as their daughters enjoy it, because parents are typically more likely to let their kids watch something that they're interested in, too. It probably had nothing to do with teenage boys.

Exactly. It's kind of what Disney did with Shrek, they didn't gear the movie towards children any more than they did adults. What do you know, the movie did amazingly well. Same with this show.

Which is a good excuse. Though, if you can prove it's more than just an excuse (through quote/source), I'd gladly use it. For now, I don't mind the fact that I'm watching a childrens show, I don't have dignity on the internet.
