Ordering a tank

Did a quick search for this and found I could move the siege tank and have it stand by an enemy unit to unsiege if I understood it correctly. But is there any way to unsiege a tank owned by a player without just creating a new unit? It can be a duke or regular if that helps.

Edit: SCRAP THIS QUESTION! I'm making a mod now. It's gonna be good.

Have you tried using an AI script like "Make these units patrol"? The only way I know to have the AI unsiege naturally is if its only target is too close in proximity to attack.

Although Heinermann didn't specify siege details, he made a huge post recently about http://www.staredit.net/topic/13823/ in the Theories and Ideas section. You could always pose the question there and he can probably get the exact details for you.

Just tried it. not much success. Those tanks stay put. The unit being close to it's target works. I've seen this happen before. it might need an AI script though.

I'm not aware of any way that will forcefully cause a tank to siege, or unsiege. It's a bit of an issue in my desert strike map, as the tanks like to sit at the edge of map, sieged up, and never move.

I use Order: Move on my sieged tanks and Order: Patrol on the mobile ones. The tanks will siege and unsiege themselves using these commands, but as above, sometimes they get stuck and never move.

Funny that you write that. Someone just told me the exact same thing but about another person in that same forum who is acting pretty dumb. :bleh:

KrayZee shouted: How does one deal with a narcissist who is making things up, exaggerates their statements using words like "worst experience in my life" as to put emphasis in declaring trivial things, can't admit they are wrong and likes to escalate a situation that wasn't even a problem in the first place? I'm already at the point of just straight up ignoring this person and reporting em to forum moderators.

not sure if there's a misunderstanding, because obviously blue posts can be silly as well.
