I'm on my friend's server right now, there's usually three or four of us on there. But still. I just want to build boxes. Lots and lots of boxes. Save me.

So I've downloaded the Obsidian Mod

It seems very interesting, with 3 new bosses, and tons of weapons that fills up the mid game, making progression less linear.
Anyone want to play terraria with me again?

About time. I got rather bored of the game for a bit, and abandoned the stage editor I was writing. We'll see what happens then.

It looks like they've probably completely overhauled the water/lava physics.

There are sloped blocks/stairs now. It looks like there might be an elevator too, plus a whole bunch of other things as seen in the video.

Also saw something about an npc ice statue that works as a guard or something.

There are a lot of early access streams of the game. Some of the big name streamers were given the game early and have been playing it. Saw a rope that people were using in their houses and you go up/down that thing like nobody's business.

Are we going to have a little SEN party on release or we just running our own shows?

I'm sure Shady will be running a 24/7 server, so maybe we can all just hop onto her world.

I'd be down for that if I'm not busy with homework and shit.

Isn't there gonna be a bigger size limit this time?

If there is, should I even use it?

Also, if there is one, I hope they changed it to dynamically allocate the size of the buffer for the map data so it doesn't increase memory usage needlessly when you aren't using the max size. This is one of the changes that my server mod had in it, because otherwise the memory usage would go up if I increased the maximum size allowed.

As long as we get a good chunk of just about everything then I don't really mind, hopefully enough floating islands to go around etc.

The bigger, the better. You can never have enough floating islands.

I had experimented with larger maps with my mod, but I never hosted one because it uses so much memory and requires a client mod to be able to explore the whole world, especially the bottom areas. I'd be surprised if memory usage doesn't go up at least a little with the update and especially if it even goes down.
