I finally got around to adding short URLs to the wiki. All the old links will still work, but from now on all links will appear as http://www.galaxywiki.net/wiki/ with the pagename following.

I've also started changing some redundant pages. I saw that Jack mentioned how Veterancy and Leveling units should be combined, so instead I redirected the "Veterancy" page to "Behaviors#Veterancy." Unless something like this specifically needs its own page, I suggest we do this from now on.

Another example is how I redirected Effect - Instant and Effect - Target to Abilities (specifically the sections for these types). From there, we can list articles for specific examples. It makes it less confusing ultimately.

Something like Abilities#Behavior works as that gives a basic example of what a Behavior is, but then it links to the Behavior page which has a ton more info.

I also added http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Cite/Cite.php so <ref></ref> and <references /> tags will now work properly.

And I added http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ParserFunctions for all our fun template/table needs.

I also redesigned the skin a bit. I think the sidebar looks a lot cleaner now. The "Page," "Discussion," etc. links seem really cool to me this way, but maybe they're too weird. My inspiration was originally that I couldn't move the Sidebar down at all, so instead I brought the content box up. Doing that left the links above in an awkward position.

Looks good. Can we have a page for wiki discussion linked o on the sidepanel? Not a full forum, just a page. Also, a mod to allow a little box with new maps and sc2 news would be cool, like what they have on http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Main_Page on the mid right.

Yeah, we can totally do that. What page would you like it to be (or create it yourself and I can link to it)?

The News box they have is a template that links to their News page. I can look into adding that for us, though the News page would have to be manually updated. I'm also not sure what we'd put there, as that would make GWN seem more like a SC2 community rather than just an informative Wiki. I mean we can include links to our map updates, and UDMod and SC2Mod can update for theirs, but that seems to make it more complicated as we'd then need to lay ground rules for who can update and when.

So the pain in the ass about it is that it doesn't automatically add news or anything, so it has to be added on the News page and the template page.

Hrm, I think it's good and we could just have stuff like Latest Articles or something.

Yeah, I like that idea, if we did latest. Hopefully people update it when they edit, though. I'll do some cosmetic work on it this weekend to get us started.

Alright, added it finally. It shows up on GWN's main page. I'm going to try to compile as much old news as possible into http://www.galaxywiki.net/wiki/GalaxyWiki:News and make sure that is updated.

You can add new news to the main page by going to http://www.galaxywiki.net/wiki/Template:Wiki_News and editing it there.

It should be higher up, (think top right) instead of me being forced to scroll down to see it. Maybe that's just on my 1280x800 screen but still.

I can try to mess with it a bit. Right now I can't have the existing table on the main page next to the news table, as it overlaps. I can perhaps put the mainpage table into a <div> as well, and put them side by side.
