I'm currently about 10 hours in (Read: STILL HAVENT FUNDED MY FUCKING EXPEDITION). Experiencing severe amounts of 'I don't have a fucking clue what I'm supposed to do here but I'm going this way because there's a quest marker here so I should probably go this way and kill something or talk to someone and hope for the best'. Other than that, I'm genuinely enjoying it, despite the 500~ user reviews on metacritic damning the game. Doesn't live up the DA:O, however those are some big shoes to fill, so why am I surprised? So, what does everyone else think?
Also this comic is funny

The first one was overrated imo. Only tried the demo of the second a couple of weeks ago and it looked pretty good. The combat appeared to be better, at least for assassin. I'll probably buy it when I get home to a better computer.
I like the series and have been put off by the user reviews. Still, Mass Effect is the better of the Bioware franchises. Let's hope they impress with ME3.

argarraghh.. rage. I tried to block out the release date from my memory so that I'd get some work done this march (assignments, deadlines, research, literature reviews etc)...
This thread has just reminded me and my order has been placed. Good bye Easter holidays.

Same deal with me. Friends reminded me of it when I got home from my trip south, catching up in school since flew the coup.
Also: Most of the people dropping negative reviews (read: 0 bombs) on metacritic are people who don't like it because it's not the original, don't be fooled by them. It's a fun game, but it isn't Origins.

Finished it, ending underwhelming, although the boss fight was cool. I feel like the entire game is missing the dark personality that characterized the original (along with unique dungeons, yadigg). It's still a fun RPG, just don't read too far between the lines in the story.

Also: I took the Mage's side, despite every other mage in the circle being a god damn blood mage. Meredith's a raging coke addict of lyrium. Did it ever explain why pure Lyrium turns people batshit?

One of the writers for the game is getting a lot of attention because in an interview she was asked something like "what was the hardest thing about helping create this game?" or something. She says that she doesn't even like games and that she hated writing the story for dragon age 2. I think she said that she thought the whole game was stupid anyway and that she wished she was doing something else lolololol. For some reason they nicknamed her hamburger helper.

I'm playing it for a few days now and I'm getting close to funding my expedition. I must say I'm not impressed. It's just another generic RPG imo. It's fun, I'll give it that, but it lacks the creativity, fantastic voice acting and depth of the characters that made DA:O so unique. It's lacking depth in general, actually. They are even reusing the same level design for several locations. Bad Bioware, baad.
The only section it doesn't fall short is the graphics and combat. The latter is what really makes the game enjoyable. It's fast paced (but you can still pause at will) and the party AI / programmable behavior works well, although sometimes there's not the right condition to make an ability/spell useful on auto-cast and you'll have to cast it manually. Still good though.
My conclusion is that it is nothing great, but a fun game to play through if you have some extra time.
Yeah, it's pretty disappointing how it couldn't live up to its predecessor. I haven't played it, but it doesn't look that impressive to me? Can you only stay within the city, or can you go elsewhere? I think I read that you can't go outside of the city, but I may have misread it.
I haven't played this game, so I can't really say
but from Reviews
I've heard that DragonAge I is overrated and very generic
And DragonAge II is even worst.

You were ninja'd from the future bro.
Anyways, Dragon Age: Origins was amazing. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a lyrium addict or was molested by their uncle.

TBH, I actually think the first dragonage would've been pretty good if I actually played it...
it's the sort of Triple A Games that we're desperately lacking...and that's probably why people'd've liked it
but strip it to it's core.. it's probably not any better than many of the old games.
And where the hell is that quote from?!

Yeah, UU, DA:O is fucking epic. The amount of detail that's in the game is insane. The story is great, the atmosphere is great, the characters are
very diverse and different from each other, and even though you get the same story each time, you want to replay it over and over (at least, that how I feel).
